I don't know why I am so bent out of shape about this but today we got our rough draft of our ceremony emailed to us and I thought it was a really good start and was so excited. Well FH just said he thought it sounded cheesy/corny and to mushy. If anything I think it verges on not being mushy at all in my opinion. He says that maybe it's just because it is out of context(reading it online as opposed to during the real deal) which , I can see his point, but I guess I mean come on it's a wedding for god's sake it is suppose to talk about love and be a little bit mushy right? It's not like we are ordering food at a take out with no emotion. Blah I'm sure it's just nothing but sometimes I wish guys were just a little more like girls. What do you think? Sorry it's so long just had to rant a little bit, feeling insecure.

Re: FH Rant
im sorry..i think that most guys are just not good at emotions or try to hide them for some odd reason
I sure he will be fine at the actual ceremony

Re: FH Rant
Yeah, hopefully he will be... I guess I just wanted a little more excitement or something from him, he was just totally unemotional about it

Re: FH Rant
If its just a rough draft of it, why don't you try asking for some input from him, concerning what is said. Maybe he won't think its entirely mushy if he is involved in the 'editing' process

Re: FH Rant
Yeah, one thing I've learned is that guys are just programmed differently. Doesnt mean he loves you any less. I do sometimes wish that FH would be more 'emotional' about things, but I have come to accept that he's just not.

Re: FH Rant
I hear ya! I had the same situation. He said it was corny and mushy. . I told him it's a wedding! You don't think standing in front of family and friends proclaiming your love for each other until you die ISN'T CORNY? It's SUPPOSED to BE! Tell him to get over it and deal with it. I'm adding to my vows, to love, honor and TORTURE him all the days of of my life. That will teach him.

Re: FH Rant
In all of our relationahips we have to find what works for us as individuals. I know so many couples whose lives i do not envy and would never tolerate.
If this is how your FH behaves normally, I wouldn't expect an about face just because you are getting married.
Change takes effort, understanding, patience and time.
