FH rant and I need advice! Please help me! (long story - sorry)

Okay, so last night FH wanted to go out to this bar that he always goes to with his friends and his cousin and her friends. They all know me but I rarely go out to the bar b/c I don’t like it – I am bored out of my mind b/c all the talk about it SPORTS.
He begs me to go all the time and I almost always tell him no b/c I would rather be doing almost anything else. Then he gets upset with me b.c he wants me to drive him there so he does not have to be responsible for driving and his car would not be left at the bar if he took a cab home. So even though I of course decided not to go he still asks me to drive him there. I said no. He disappeared into my basement and all of a sudden (like an hour later – I thought he was on the computer doing his “fantasy” baseball BS) his cousin is at my house picking him up to go to the bar. He tells me NOTHING! I thought he was going to go there with his car but NO – he leaves his car at my house and his cousin mysteriously appears at my house to pick him up. THEN he asks me if he should call me when he is done to come and pick him up so he can sleep at my house (which mind you would be at 4am). I said, no go sleep at home.
SOOO. . . he calls this morning (9:30) and tells me he called me last night, but my cell phone at 345 to tell me he was on his way home. He wants to come over here to do a “fantasy draft” that apparently I am supposed to be a part of (I know nothing about these things). So – if you are reading carefully – where is his car???? That’s right – at my house and how is he supposed to get to my house??? His parents will not drive him – so he can either walk (it’s a few miles ? like 7 or something), so he wants ME to pick him up!
And, of course he plans to have some of HIS friends come to my house tonight to watch . . . “Wrestlemania”. I don’t watch that crap! (Sorry if any of you like it – I just really don’t). The pay-per view show will be on tonight until like 11pm which means that his friends will not leave until like 12 and I have to be up in the am at 530 for work. He made these plans by assuming that I would okay with them! He asked me and I NEVER said “yes” but I did not say “no” so he went with that the answer would have to be “yes” b/c that is what he wanted the answer to be.
I told him he is selfish and he never thinks of how I feel and that we need to talk about this. My problem and fear is that I can pull this crap now B/C we don’t live together. What is going to happen when we get married? What am I going to do? Does anyone ever feel this way? I mean I feel like I get “cold feet” a lot! What is wrong with me?? Help!!

I would talk to him about all of this. It seems like he needs to be more considerate of your feelings. I agree with you that it might only get worse when you live together, so now is the best time to sit down and address this and find a compromise for change.

On some level men will be men. They like a few thinsg we don;t but that doe snot mean they should not consider your feelings. Speak to FH about the way you feel. he can have his Fantasy baseballa nd wrestling but needs to consider how the timne he puts in or things he asks of you relating to them make you feel.

Discussing any issue when it comes up is the best way to handle it. Talk now and don;t hold things in and yes, disucss, let your feelings be known. Sometimes persons do not know how their actions affect you or others.

Good luck- here if you need to chat

aww i'm so sorry to hear this! boys will be boys, though, and for some of them, for some reason, that means not considering your feelings and just assuming you're OK with everything. i hope you two can talk this out and hopefully he'll start to see this type of thing from your perspective!!

Oh wow... Men have realll ballz sometimes... You have to train him!!! LoL FH & I used to have these kinda probs all the time, but hed never ever ask me to pick him up b/c HE wanted to go out...

If im not involved in the plans, he doesnt get me involved ya know? Only really 1 time I could think of when he wanted to leave some place and his friend who drove him didnt wanna leave so i get a call at 2 in the morn askin me to pick him up.... and I was pissed off and waited a lil while to get him and found him walking towards home on the side of a parkway....

Take a stand and confront him on this... If you dont do it asap.... he will prob keep making those stupid choices!!!! Theres 2 of you in this relationship... its not all about him!

He shouldnt make plans like that with out getting an answer from you. You have to sit down and talk with him sweety and tell him how you feel.

Thank you so much ladies!!!

FH and I have talked - I don't think things will change that quickly - but I DID stand firm on the picking him up thing and he did seem to understand my side of things.
Sometimes it is soo hard to talk to him b.c like you gals said - they are IMPOSSIBLE!! He changes things around and all that jazz. At least during this 'fight' conversation (no yelling), I had some 'evidence' or 'examples' that help him to see how his actions affect others and how he is wrong.

We shall see.

Thank you all - It is really great to have a place with so many people willing to help me out

You HAVE to talk to him. Once you are married and living together, his friends may make your home their home....

Wow! That is crazy! I would be pissed too! Doesn't your FH work also? isn't he concerned about getting up early for his job? I think he needs to consider your wishes especially if this is all going on in YOUR HOUSE. JMO
