FH's wedding gift

FH's wedding gift

What are you all buying your fh's for the wedding day? Is it something you talked about before the day? I don't think either of us were thinking of doing that but I read the post about the surprise bracelet and began to wonder if I should be getting fh a present.

We told each other we wouldn't be buying each other gifts. We're spending so much already for everything. We just can't wait to be husband and wife.

We never talked about it, but I've been thinking about buying him a white gold bracelet. He wears yellow gold now, but his wedding band is white gold, so I thought it would be a good idea to get something to match.

That's my idea for right now...this could change 100 times between now and April!!

I'm thinking of getting a gift certificate to go on a hot air balloon ride for the 2 of us.

I'm getting him a white gold bracelet w/1.25 carat diamonds. But that's really suppossed to be an engagement gift for him.

Do I HAVE to buy him a wedding present. We're paying for this wedding, I'm gonna be broke

Re: FH's wedding gift

ps interesting quote I was just given....80% of couples do not 'consumate' the marriage on their wedding night! LOL

We have talked about it, but now with all of our money going towards the wedding the thought of more money for gifts for each other is making it seem less and less attractive!

Re: FH's wedding gift

We didn't really talk about it but we decided to not go 'crazy' with the cost. Also, we are not going to spend a lot on Christmas gifts this year. We decided that we wanted to give each other a gift for the wedding, but it cannot be too expensive.
I got Scott a set of Tiffany sterling silver cufflinks with his initials SC. He does not use his middle name very often AND we have already decided that if we are blessed with a son someday his name will be Sean. Now Scott can pass these down to our son (again if we are blessed) someday- I tear up just thinking about that.

Re: FH's wedding gift

We decided to keep it simple as well, our HM is our main gift. I got Fi Tiffany cufflinks & his ring engraved as a suprise. I know he got me ring engaved as well-the dumb jeweler left a message on the machine that its ready
I think he got me a piece of jewelry too, we'll see in 2 days! Yippee!

We're not getting anything for each other either. We have our honeymoon and that's more than enough for me!

Re: FH's wedding gift

I think I 'm going to buy him a watch with some sentimental saying on the back. Every day he asks me about 100 times 'what time is it' so I thought that would be a nice gift. He is going to give me princess cut earrings that I will wear on our wedding day. I told him he could buy me cubic zirconas and one day replace them with real ones, diamonds are so expensive.

Well I think most of you remember my story...THE GUITAR, and well he has it already! So no gift on the wedding day.

I've heard the statistic too about not consumating the marriage on the wedding night. I bet the couples are too busy counting their money!

Re: FH's wedding gift

we were going to get new golf clubs together...but ended up on the HM talking about puppies...when we got home...we went right to the puppy store and brought home our 'son' Elvis...

It was the best thing we could have done...he has become part of the family and we are so attached right now that I can't remember our life without him

good thing we didn't get the golf clubs...a month after the wedding DH was laid-off!! now we can't afford to golf like we used to!!
