FH thinks im crazy!

just got engaged, we want a 2013 wedding.
so i tell him today we got to start looking at halls, we are behind...and he thinks im crazy!
he doesnt understand and now im feeling like im looking like a bridezilla to him (he jokingly even called me one!) lol
anyone else go through this?

You are def not crazy! If your looking at March 2013 then that is ONLY 15 months away which will fly by! Def start looking into halls and seeing where your interested in touring. There has been 2013 girls who said things have been booked already. With that said, u dont need to rush but def start checking out your options.

Fortunately FH doesnt think Im crazy though. We booked our hall in the end of July for our Oct 2013 wedding! Lol We wanted plenty of time to save and pay it off since we are paying for most of the wedding ourselves.

quick question, i assume they expect a deposit when you book the date? is it a percentage? or a flat rate deposit fee.

It's usually a deposit some ant 500 some wasn't 1000

Yes, u def have to put a deposit to book your date. My RH was flat rate.. $1000 down. I know other RH may be dif. Sometimes it is a percentage, other times a flat rate.

If you tell him that places are starting to book up he may change his opinion? I'm doing summer 2013 and I just went to my first hall tonight and boy is it stressful.

yes i did...he joked hes taking my engagement ring back --hes a big teaser...so hard to get him to talk seriously--thing i love/hate abt him lol

i know he likes verdi's a lot...but other than that we havent looked into many places -- where did you go today????

Well the RH and the church if you are getting married in one are the most important ...i would just set up appts. with RH that you guys want to see and i would start after the new years ...at least u can look at a couple of places

LOL FH will come to his senses once you start looking at FH's.. I even got asked if I would be booking for 2014!

There are sooo many more 2013 girls now- really, it's next year (well, almost!) I've been engaged over a year now. We booked our hall exactly 2 years in advance. My mom does most appts and shows with me and was shocked at how many 2013 bookings there were by mid 2011. Very few vendors, but there were some, wouldnt bother with me bc it was ' too early'. But I got every vendor I wanted and great deals/prices I think bc of early bookings!
The only people who think I'm crazy are FH family. 'your wedding is 2 years away-we don't need to think about it now'
But noooo ur not crazy at all!!,!
