Has he pulled the 'I don't care whatever'........then once you make a decision he says....'Why did you choose that?'

Cause I gotta tell you..........that is just my favorite of this whole wedding planning process........

Run with it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seriously.

Just tell him that if he doesn't offer opinions now, he better not open his mouth later on!

During planning, my DH had only one of two responses when I asked him what he thought.

1) No.
(He called this his 'Veto Power.' Meaning he really doesn't like it, please please please forget it. Don't do it!)

2) I don't care.
(Meaning he doesn't dislike it enough to use his 'veto power' and wants me to pick whatever makes me happiest)

His rationale was that he didn't want to say 'Yes!' or 'I Love It!' about something, only to have me reject it later on and then he would be disappointed because he didn't get his way.

Honestly, it was the perfect arrangement for us.

YES!!!! all the time!! the best is 'why do we need that?' for everything!!!!!

'I dunno baby, some crazy woman years ago said that it was needed and all women since have stuck with it... crazy i know' this was my response to ' why do we need invitations!!!!!!!

Had a similar argument with mine yesterday. Everytime I try to talk to him about anything it's not a good time.
Pfft.

It must be in the air because we also had an argument and same basic response...Can't do it now...maybe later. Ugh..its always maybe later. Pretty soon, I'm going to stop asking and just make the decisions. If it were up to him we would be making these decisions the week of the wedding.

For most of the decisions we've had to make, I do ALL of the research myself, and present him with several options. He makes the final decision. This way, he is involved and doesnt complain that I dont ask his opinion, he doesnt have to do the work himself, and I get what I want because I am ok with any of the options.

My FH wants that veto power, lol. We actually got into a huge argument over whether we should have flowers or a monogram on the cake. He hates the monogram - I love it.

I know how you feel..my fh is the same way sometimes..but most guys don't like planning the way woman do..so try to include him in some things..but go off on your own for others..thats what i have been doing..and it seems to be helping

But that's the thing. Anytime I try to discuss anything it's 'not a good time' so when I can't wait anymore and I make the decision on my own I get 'you didn't clear it with me first'.

But, but, but I tried!!!!

I just tell him, well I asked you and you said whatever so its your own fault. and i end it

In that particular situation, maybe there's a way to compromise and have both .... I think it would be really pretty actually ... to have the monogram sitting in a bed of flowers on top of the cake.

I was lucky, there were very few things that my DH used his Veto power for. He's pretty easy going, he's a smart man -- he realized a long time ago that if I'm happy, he's happy.

I know I only get what's left to do? He thinks everything is taken care of already. Just b/c we have all our big vendors booked now come the dtls, music selections, flower selections, programs, menus, placecards, bm jewelry, my day of jewelry. He had no idea the depth of it all. I can't ask for his opion b/c its usually whatever you want, or yeah ok that's nice. Why do we need that? is the kicker....it just gets me more annoyed that I have to explain why we need something.

are we marrying the same guy?

I don't think I'm getting addresses from him either, I'm going to give him a pile of invites and say 'Here, these are for your side, its out of my hands now'
