Sometimes I wonder who's the bride here, lol. He wants an engagement party but i think it's better to save the money for the wedding. So I think now we're gonna have an engagement barbeque, at like one of our parents houses. Heh, he cracks me up.

I had an engagement party that was outside in my SIL backyard. It wasn't in a restaurant and it was lovely.
You can have an engagement party and keep it simple and not so costly.

If he really wants one go for it....we had one and it was such a good time...it really gave us a chance to meet extended family on both sides
