FH was asked to be in a traditional Indian wedding!
So his best friend from kindergarten is getting married this July and he just ask FH to be in the bridal party!
We're actually both really excited about it because the bride and groom are having a big traditional Indian wedding and the whole experience will be a first for both of us!
FH has to wear traditional garb AND grow a full beard, and because I don't have the first clue as to what would be appropriate for me to wear to the ceremony, the bride and groom are going to go out with me and FH one day and find me something!
After the ceremony there is going to be a place for us to change (FH into a tux and me into a gown)
I think we're gonna have a great time!
Has anyone else had, or have been to a traditional Indian wedding before?

Thanks girls! FH growin a beard is the one thing that I'm NOT looking foward too, though I completely understand him having to do so. (My skin is super sensitive)
But otherwise I'm pretty psyched about it. It's going to be a looooooooong day. We have to be at the place for the ceremony at 7 in the morning! And I know the reception is going to be HUGE - like going over 300 easy from what I understand.
I promise to take loads of pics!

Very cool! I'm going to my first ever at the end of the month (a co-worker). It's supposed to be huge, 3 hour Hindu ceremony on Fri, Christian ceremony on Sat. w/ reception for 300+

that is really cool. I would def like to see how different a traditional indian wedding would be. a friend of mine is Jewish (it was more of an orthodox wedding) and it was really interesting. the cocktail hour before they even got married.. i was def confused! and the men and women sit sepaately
have fun and def post pics!

I have never been to one but that sounds so exciting. You are going to have a great time. Make sure to have a review about it. I can't wait to hear how it was.

Yes they are! I went to two so far and it was really the best experience! Great food, dancing and everything!
Also the ceremony itself (Hindu) is very interesting. I had one of the brides relatives explaining to me what was going on and it was amazing.
