FH's car has been declared a total loss

FH's car has been declared a total loss

Due to the torrential downpours we had all of last week, the entire electrical system of his car was damaged. Most of the cars on the barracks (Connecticut) suffered the same damage.

He went today and the dealer's mechanic declared it a total write off. He had been planning on selling it to get something more cost effective gas wise, now he has to find something soon.

It's weird, the drivers seat locked in the memory position set for me even though it had been adjusted to his setting, so he could only drive it that way, mind you I am way shorter than him, so his knees were hugging the dashboard.

Oh No, maybe he should try to sell it to one of those car cash people, you never know they might give you something.
Good Luck

wow. does that get covered by insurance? LOL how much taller is he than you. I know my FH gets crushed everytime he tries to drive my car and the seat is way up close for my 5'1 driving needs.

Thankfully he has full coverage and he will get the value of the car which will be a decent down payment on whatever he buys.

Believe me it was hard not to laugh when he told me over the phone, because I kept picturing how he must look in my mind. On top of that he had to drive in a seat that was water soaked despite getting most of the water out.

Thank God for insurance. My supervisor is out today b/c her basement was completely flooded. She lost he big screen, in tables, carpet, not to mention one of her daughters rooms are down stairs, and needless to say its a mess. The water was baout 1 1/2 feet high. and guess what No Insurance to Cover Water, or Flood Damages. Crazy right.
So look at it this way at least he'll get something out of it

Aww Amy, that really stinks!!!!! So sorry to hear, but I'm glad it's fully covered!! That's good at least!!

It's good that you could laugh about it too. My 6'5' FH has never even tried getting into the driver's seat of my lil Hyuandai!!
