FH's Family........Vent!!!!!
So, My FH lost his mother a few years back. His dad remarried about 2 years ago.
My FH (and myself) do not want to include his dad's new wife in the wedding party (i.e. walk down the aisle).
Apparently, the new wife and his dad are 'so very' upset about this and his dad doesn't understand why his wife is not included but my FH's SIL is (UmmMMM Hello, its completely different his SIL is a bridesmaid!). I don't get why he and she (Father and New Wife) can't understand that this is a sensitive time for my FH and that he never envisioned his dad's new wife in the ceremony. It is hard enough for him dealing with the fact that his own Mom not being there, and he will not be able to share a MOG dance.
On top of that, she really is not involved in our lives other than being his dad's wife, meaning that is the extent of our relationship with her (e.g. she's never called us for a birthday, I don't think she even has my phone number, I don't know her maiden name, and neither of us has ever spent one on one time with her, etc.)
She has made no effort at all to help with anything with the wedding and she has not offered assistance once.
Then we find out that my FH's uncle made a comment to her saying 'I cant believe they didn't include you.'
I am so livid that I really want to call his uncle and tell him to jump off a cliff (I wouldnt because I just do not like drama especially with family).
But I feel like we really should say something to his dad and the wife. I was thinking of pulling her to the side myself and mentioning that it's been very tough of my FH knowing that his mom won't be therefore and we wanted to strictly keep it parent's only.
Ughh she is just such a miserable person, she doesnt even have a relationship with her own kids and I feel like she always tries to come between my FH, his brother, and their dad. I wish my FH's dad had a little spine to stand up to her, he is one of those men who just morph into the people they are with.
UghhHHH - sorry for the long vent. I've just had enough, it is always something with them.
