FH's Grandma is nuts!

So I saw her on Friday and she brings FH and I a gift off our registry. It was a picture frame. I said thank you, I love it, obviously since I registered for it. So she's like oh really??? and she starts going on and on about how hard it was for her to find something from our registry that she actually liked. She goes on to tell us that she hates everything we registered for and we could do MUCH better. I was like, really? Like what? And she's like, I hate your stemware and Ugh, Lenox?? There is so much nicer than Lenox. About half of my registry has Lenox stuff on it!!!! She went on and on about how bad all the stuff was....I just couldn't believe it! OMG, I think FILs nearly died...FMIL felt SOOOO bad. I nearly died!

wow!! well at lest ur FIL's felt bad and that u were able to keep ur composure! i love my registry, and i too have tons of Lenox on it!

I wouldn't worry too much about it. FH's grandma always tells us how fat/skinny we look between each time we see her and things like that. For some reason, she just has no idea she should be keeping her mouth SHUT! Most of the time we just laugh it off.

omg! I know it is not but I couldn't help but I think it was our of horror for you thought. I work in assisted living so I am quite use to hearing interesting things from the elderly. I wouldn't be too upset. Everyone knows someone who has a crazy grandma. You poor thing.

Actually that is true. Its not really that they say screw it, I'm old, i will say what I want, they literally have no filters. I learned all about this because of FFIL's brain disease, but the part of your brain that filters what you say and do (and controls time) literally shrinks as you get older. SCARY isn't it?

I work at a nursing home and I know for a fact this is 100% true with about 95% of them lol. I'm sorry you had to go through that. Older people have different styles and taste then we do so I would just take it with a grain of salt.
