FH's Hair on the Big Day?

So my FH actually asked me to look out on LIW for answers to these questions...hehe....so I'm like no, I'll just post it and see what the girls say!

Here are his questions regarding his hair for the big day:

When should he get his hair cut? I have heard 1 week before, but he hasn't been entirely happy with all of his recent haircuts and figures he only has about 4 more before the wedding to find someone who always gives him a good cut.....and if it's not good, it takes a little longer to get good.....any thoughts?

Also, he normally uses some kind of gel in his hair but has problems with the gel flaking by the end of the day...and he's not sure how it will look in pics. Anyone know of any good hair products for guys? Here's a pic of FH so you can see how he normally styles it:

OK on my mom's mac and I can't make this work...you can kinda see in my avatar pic. Basically it's short, really short on the sides and a little longer on the top, and kind of gelled forward and up a little just at the front....if that makes sense at all? haha...

my fh spikes his hair and he is obsesses with the gel he buys..but damn i cant think of the name..it comes in a little green bottle with like a squirt top..ill ask him when he gets up..but he has the same issues with flaking with other gels but not this kind...and im thinking he will get a hair cut 2 weeks beforehand

lol well fh has been prepping his hair for the big day, he didn't want spikes which he usually wears so he's been going frequently to get his hair the right length and all that. NOW he actually uses the same hair product as I do, they only sell it at salons and the girl happened to give him this to use...its called A/G and it never flakes and holds well...he also used to use lots of hair products and never flaked so i'll ask what the other ones are, for some reason i can't even remember anymore lol.

As far as when to get his hair cut it depends on how fast his grows...for example if hes gonna do spikes and wants them to be a certain length then maybe a week before bc if his hair grows alot in 2 weeks then the spikes will be too long

well FH, I think is going for the same look and maybe something that has extra hold.. not sure.. as for the haircut, depends how fast his grows, I would definetly say atleast 10 days before.. you want the look to set in..

FH is going to have his usual short cut..He'll probably do it that Friday so it still looks neat by Sunday.

its so funny, i just had this convo with FH yesterday about when to cut his hair, i was like no offense and all you know i love you, but please dont cut your hair a day before the wedding lol, we are going to 'monitor' his hair cuts and see how long it takes after he gets it cut to kind of grow back a little and look normal...i dont know if that makes sense lol, but we are thinking about a week or 2 before the wedding...he also uses got to be glued, its in a yellow bottle and he buys it at cvs, he loves it and no flaking

same here but he gets it cut EVERY week - just a trim / tape up

he IS letting grow a little longer on top
i LOVE how he looks with a pushback but he doesnt want it that long -

Fh is cutting his hair 3-4 days before the wedding, hes been timing the cuts perfectly with my hair girl. And the gel use pomade by redkin? something like that, smells amazing and works great, it doesn't fall or flake!

I told FH not to change how he wears his hair (I love it the way it is except when it grows too long) and that he MUST get it cut no less than 10 days before.

I also told him that I don't want the grizzly beard man look that he recently thinks looks good..

FH uses CREW hair products. They have a gel and also a Hair creme (like a whipped consistency) THey seem to work good (no flaking) and arent hard, stiff or overly shiney.

ANother groom tip I heard: I bought those oil absorbing sheets (he tends to run oily) and they are a manly way to control oil.

He says haircut 5 says before because the hair will be 'in shock' (yeah whatever)
