I am trying to get ready to buy my FH's wedding band, but am confused about the type of metal it should be. There have been articles that I have seen about tungsten carbide being better than most metals because it is more durable, but I have never heard of that metal before. Then there is palladium, and of course white gold.
Does anyone know what is the best type of metal to get a man's wedding band in? I am sooo confused.
TIA!

Re: FH's Wedding Band
DH's ring is Tungsten and he loves it. It's virtually indestructible, but in case of an emergency there IS a way to cut it off. Titanium on the other hand cannot be cut period.

is tungsten a darker metal? or does it have the light silver look of a white gold ring?

Re: FH's Wedding Band
They come in all different shades. You can get them shiny like white gold, or more of a brushed look. You can also get them in black or carbide. My DH's is brushed tungsten metal with a carbide center.

Re: FH's Wedding Band
FH bought a tungston band and LOVES is, FBIL has a similar one. Fh knew he wanted Tungsten but we shopped around until he found a style of one he liked. He loves the weight of it, he says it allows him to remember he's wearing it, plus its so durable. Its light on the outside and darker in the center, I think it looks really classy.
Other metals aren't bad, but they may be more prone to scratches and bending of the metal because they're not as strong.
