FH....Unbelievable!!!!

I see that other girls are complaining about their FH's behavious and lack of help with wedding planning, so I feel a litle bit better, but listen to this one.

My beyond gorgeous T*essa invites arrived yesterday! For the girls who are using Te*ssa, you know how long the process is and when that magic moment arrives when you get them...well, its pretty fantastic! So I clean off my kitchen table meticulously before I even think about taking the invites out of the box to start putting them together. FH is laying on the sofa (of course). Does he offer to help me? Nope, of course not. I am already irritated. After about a 1/2 hour, he walks into the kitchen, helps himself to a chocolate chip cookie and a glass of milk, walks over to the meticulously cleaned and organized table, which is absolutely covered with my beautiful invites and says, 'Do you think you can move some of that STUFF over so I can eat my cookie there?'

I LOST IT! Not only does he not offer to help me, but he thinks he is going to slop chocolate chip cookies and milk all over my beautiful invites? Are you serious? Are you insane? I flipped out and told him that he better take himself and his damn cookie to the other room before I shoved that cookie where it belongs and that he had better not say another word to me unless it was going to be an offer of help and since we all know that he never offers that, he should just not speak for the rest of the night for saying something so obviously thoughless and stupid.

I mean seriously!

The worst part is that I was at a diner with my mom and sister that day and Isaw the cookies and said to my mom and sister, 'don't let me forget to get one of those cookies for FH, they're his favorite.' Ya, so basically my thoughful gesture came back to bite me. No good deed goes unpunished!

My FH just asked me the other day about our invitations... and when are they coming in.

I had to laugh though, I mean, they arrived back in MAY!!

Ugghhh....I feel your pain!!

They just don't get it.

I'm sorry FH is not helpful. Maybe talk to him about how you are feeling!

I would never in a million years expect him to help me with that...

i would slap him if he asked me to move stuff off the table so he could eat a cookie tho.

im sorry. i had to laugh. i cant believe he said that. sorry he is not as involved as you would like him to be.
im sure there is something you can do to get back at him

That s ucks about the cookie thing...but I find if I want help with something from FH the best course of action is to assume that he is completely oblivious to the fact and then to ask him to help me.

Then I'd probably make him angry coz I'd tell him to wash his hands and trim his nails and make sure he was spotless before he came anywhere near my invites

Boys will be boys & MEN are just bigger boys. I always wait until FH is not around B-4 I do anything wedding related. His lack of wanting to help works to my advantage. I don't need him in my hair doing things half A$$ED.Just like chatting here. I wait until I'm at work to go on the boards. This way I don't have to deal with his B.S.
On another note maybe the kitchen table was not a good location to do what you needed to do.

It was actually really funny to watch because it was one of those giant cookies that you get at the diner. He had his big old cookie in one hand and his glass of milk in the other. He looked like a giant kid.

that is funny, in hindsight im sure... at the time i would be like *** are you doing? lol

Wow, sorry that he was so oblivious. I can't believe about the cookie - wasn't funny at the moment but probably really funny now.

I know how you feel, FH's are rarely involved in planning or having anything to do with planning weddings. Most of the time we are on our own :((((
