Okay, I don't think that the hulk and captain america are going to go with with french renassaince motif! He actually wants to put them on a shelf.

(DH has his Yankee clock hanging in his closet!!! When we move in to the house he can disply his junk in his gym! )

He said that 95 percent of the house is going to be decorated by me...he just wants a small percentage of decorating freedom. That would of been fine if he actually had any taste I am going to have to find a way to make those things dissapear. OMG and I forgot to mention he is planning on buying more. God help me!

i would say give him the basement.. thats my FI's most favorite room in the house!(plus you never have to be there)

What about somewhere in your bedroom?
He is right-he should have some freedom to put things that he likes in the house.
My fiance loves Kitsch-you know stuff from the4 50s-80s. So, we actually made a theme out of it in our living room! I gave him one room to decorate! I get the bedroom, kitchen and bathroom.

I would suggest giving him a certain space, maybe one room, that he is allowed to design/decorate.
It can't just be a shelf in the living room, cause then whatever he does just messes up the design of the room. Let him have one room, maybe an office or a bedroom that he can 'do up' with his stuff?

I agree with Mims. Fh's brother has every comic book figurine imaginable. He has about 4 shelves in his room full of them

ha too funny! my fiance has a lot of stuff that he wants displayed that i don't think are appropriate. i have told him (after numerous fights) that he can decorate the basement any way he wants. i told him i'll get him a sign that says something like 'ben's space' just so everyone knows the story!

FH has the walls of his room covered - as in you don't know what color the paint is - with figures. I expect the same when we have our own house - it is BOTH our space, not just mine, and I don't think it would be fair of me to try & change that.
