FI broke his leg!

My fiance dislocated his leg this weekend, broke his fibula and tore most of the ligaments. Poor guy is a grad student here in Manhattan so I don't know how he will get around. He's on pain killers now and can't leave home for a week but next week he is supposed to have 2 job interviews - one requires a 3 hour plane trip! ugh. poor guy. First time he ever hurt himself and it required an ambulance, surgery and 3 days in the hospital not to mention all the other problems. Two months before he is allowed to stand on it.
He should be better just in time for the wedding.

I'm sorry to hear this! I know what you are both going through. FH tore his Achilles tendon while playing basketball 3 wks before Christmas, and is still not fully recovered. He put off proposing to me (was going to do it on New Years Eve) because he didn't want his injury to overshadow it. We finally got engaged on Valentine's day, but the poor guy couldn't get down on his knee because he was still hurt! Its been a difficult few months. He went back to work last month, which was a relief because he was very bored and depressed when he was home doing nothing. Its a trying time, and definitely makes you take the 'in sickness and health' vow pretty seriously. But whatever doesn't kill you will just make you stronger! Best of luck to both of you.

I can sympathize!! FH broke his leg 3 weeks ago skiing. 5-7 months with an external fixator on his leg if it heals well! He should be walking well again just in time for the wedding too!

It seems bad now, but it will heal and he will be fine. And your wedding will still go perfectly. Maybe he can ask to have those interviews postponed.
