Fibroadenomas

Anyone ever have them? If this is personal please send FM.

They found one on me at my first mamogram and biopsied it last feb. Because my mother had breast cancer when I was 18months old and needed a mastecomy so they want to monitor me closely since my mother had it at such a young age.

They send me for sonograms every 6 months and mamograms every year - and if it grows they want to remove it.

Otherwise I was told not to give it a second thought.

I've had one removed about 2 or 3 years ago. I found others in the other breast now and one has grown.

I'm curious if you had any info as far as alternative treatments besides surgical removal, causes etc. Most of the research I've done says unknown.

I had one removed about 5 years ago. I was the one who found it and went for a sonogram. Ended up being pretty big and just going to get bigger so I got it removed a few weeks later. They biopsied it and it was fine. I am very prone to them so I do self exams often and know I may have to go through the surgery again at some point.
