Fight

FH and I are fighting, Hes pissed because i took my sisters kids tonight. I have them a lot, shes a single mom and she thinks shes 20 again. They dont have a lot so I always like to do things with them.....today we all went to the plantitarium and then I wanted to go to Red Robin.for dinner We got there and he wasnt even speaking to me barely so i said forget it and got all mad and we left. We came home and still hes not speaking to me.......i went downstairs and asked him what was wrong and he was like im sick of always spending money on those kids, and we never get to do anything because we always have them. I dont know what to do.....I love these kids like they are my own and he just seems digusted by them, like its their fault their mother dumps them on us and we always have to buy them dinner and stuff. I am so upset and I have no one to talk to about this.......so that why I just rambled on so if anyones still reading this thanks for listening

Aww, sorry to hear that you are fighting. Maybe you should take the kids that often. I understand you love them but they are your sister's kids. Once in a while is nice to watch them to help her out but not all the time. You need to worry about your own things. I hope this helps. Feel better

I'm sorry to hear about your argument...its tough to tell your sister that you cant watch her kids, even if you aren't up to it. What I suggest doing is talking to your FH and see if there is something you can do....perhaps, you and him can take the kids the one Saturday night a month so she can go out and you can spend time with the kids. You can tell her that when you have the kids that you always like to take them out, but with a wedding coming up you are trying to save money so you can do it once a month. Maybe that will help!! Good luck!!

I'm so sorry! It sounds like your FH is upset with your sister, not with you. Maybe you could talk to your sister and tell her that you love the kids, but you can't take them as much as she wants you to take them. As for the money situation (you said that your FH complained about always spending money on the kids by taking them places and out to dinner), explain to your sister that you're saving for a wedding and you don't have that much spending money, and maybe your sister could give you some money when you take the kids out.

HTH!

Re: Fight

so sorry to hear you are fighting. i've run into some similiar issues with my brother and his kids.

just a piece of advice....i know you feel bad for the kids and want to take care of them. but to play devil's advocate here...if you have to watch the kids because you're sister 'thinks she's in her 20's again'...it's not fair to your FH. by saying she thinks she's 20 again, i assume you mean that she goes out and has fun and dumps the kids on you. why should she get to go out and have fun partying, while you and your FH have to watch them?

i think that's the part that makes your guy angry...because he probably feels like your sister is taking advantage of your kindness. my brother's girlfriend would do this to my family...he would be working late and she'd dump the kids off and go have fun. eventuallly my parents had to put their foot down and say enough is enough.

its tough, cause i know you just love your nieces & nephews....but don't let her take advantage of the situation. she probably knows exactly what she's doing; and that is what most likely angers your FH as it is. i'm sure he doesn't hate the kids or anything, he's just angry at the situation and has to take it out on someone.

hope you can talk this out and figure out the best resolution for you all.
