Very clever - never thought of either of those things! i have an ivory dress - I wonder if the chalk trick would still work. I know you can also use baby powder on some stains (like if you get an oily or wet colorless stain).

exactly what the baby powder is for as well. I guess you see which one works better... who knows.. I'm just gonna have it just in case lol
