does anyone know anything about fiji?? it seems like its cheaper then tahiti...so im thinking maybe i can convince my fh to go there for our honeymoon but i dont know anything about it! ANyone have any info they can share? places to stay? prices? activities?

I always wanted to go there too, but learned there isn't much to do there at all. To me, it wasn't worth it to take such a long flight to a place where there isn't much to do. HTH

I don't know much about Fiji but one of my former co-workers years ago was born in Fiji, and she said it was beautiful there. But as for prices, activities, etc, I have no idea. Sorry!

fiji is cheaper because they are having governmental and economical issues right now. it is not really safe to travel there. i believe you can check this out on our us gov passport website.

I studied abroad in Australia and took a spring break trip to Fiji. We were in college and abroad so we didn't stay at at an expensive or honeymoonish type place but it was AMAZING!! I believe we stayed in the area called Nadi - on the main island. It was a hostel type place and nothing super special but everyday they took us out on a boat and we would go to other resorts and little islands and use the beaches and pools and restaurants there.
The people in Fiji were SO NICE and we all had an amazing time. We saw some of the most beautiful sunrises and sunsets!
Try to arrive early in the day if you can though. Our flight was delayed and we got there real late at night and so our transportation got messed up. We wound up getting in kinda shady taxis and it was a bit far to our hostel and we were driving past fields where you would see little shacks on the side of the road. Sad - the people there are pretty poor. Anyway, we got there very safely but it was a scary ride. But like I said, the people were Amazingly nice - and we were just at a hostle type place.
I'd definately look into it. I know there is Turtle Island which is a private island I think. The name Beachcomber keeps coming to mind too but its been a while so I forget where all the real nice places were. Sorry this is so long I just really loved Fiji!
