Fiji honeymoon

In researching honeymoon destinations, I'm so lost! My FH is from the Carribean, so he does not want to go there. We have been to Mexico/Hawaii, and we are saving Europe for our 1st year anniversary.

Bora Bora is just too expensive, so I am looking into Fiji. For 15 nights, with airfare and most meals, it is about 12K. Am I crazy for spending that kind of money??

Help!

Re: Fiji honeymoon

Fiji is cheaper than Bora Bora, mostly because you can find a lot of hotels that include meals and some activities.

The problem with Fiji is the airfare is so much $$$ since it is across the world! The airfare alone is costing us about $5000. The honeymoon itself isn't much more expensive than staying somewhere like Mexico, UGH, I'm so torn!!

What is everyone else spending/where are you going?

Re: Fiji honeymoon

Fiji is GREAT! We chose Fiji for our honeymoon next year and we are so excited. I was there about 10 years ago and cannot wait to go back. Booked our Honeymoon with Remarkable Honeymoons. They knew exactly what to recommend because when I was there before it was more of a family resort. They have been amazingly responsive and helpful and have answered our 100000 questions! We chose Qamea Resort and will be spending 10 nights there in their royal beach house. It has an outdoor shower, plunge pool and jacuzzi on the deck. Looks amazing!

Re: Fiji honeymoon

I dont think that is too much to spend. We are are going to Australia and spending in the $20K range. I think it is a lot to spend, but we have the funds and feel like we only get one honeymoon, so why not do it big!

my opinion is that if you have the funds, then go for it!! However, the only caveat is that 15 days seems like a lot for fiji. There isn't much to do there other than beach/lounge. My friends that have gone say a week is enough. So maybe you can cut back in that regard if you want to spend less....?

Fiji honeymoon

I don't think you're crazy. If you have it, no reason not to - plus, if you don't go to Fiji for your honeymoon, when would you go!?

We're planning on traveling around Europe... I'm sure that's not going to be cheap either.

Can I ask why you chose Qamea over other resorts? We are debating between there and Matangi?

Qamea actually emailed me to ask if we were ok with the hurrican (so it matangi), but where really heartfelt. They are about the same amount of money...We're torn!

It's such a long flight so we are splitting our time between 2 resorts on opposite sides. We were going to go to Australia, but the airfare became soo expensive!

Where are you going in Australia?
