Are there any of you who would not marry the person you loved if you really did not get along with his inlaws, but he was really close to them?

oooo, good question... you are joining thier family.. you will be spending many days with them, hoiidays, and many more for the rest of your life..... But you really love HIM .... ooooo i don't know, i would probably go with my heart and say I DO and make the family be a part of my life.

Re: FIL Poll
that's tough! my first answer-reaction is to say of course i would marry him! BUT after being engaged, and having to deal with in-laws i like and are still a little invasive AND knowing how much my FH loves them and is influenced by them AND even though i know i will come first-its never a clean, guilt free decision by FH....i just dunno! if it was really bad with FIL's, to the point where FH was torn a lot and we were fighting and possibly our children would be in the middle, etc, it would be hard to get married...love is so precious, but a marriage takes so much more i think, and FH would have to be very clear that he stood with me, by me, and would separate from his family's pressure and opinions when necessary. very tough call....

OOH yes, I totally agree with bluesash . . . This is what I can add to her comment - It all depended on my FH. I have some VERY rough times with FMIL BUT he is really good about standing by ME. If he was more of a mama's boy or something, I don't know if a marriage could really LAST through thick and thin - it would be REALLY REALLY hard. Thank goodness my FH is great in this regard. He also is a strong believer in the two of us communicating about EVERYTHING even when I don't want to put him in the middle. He insists it's the way to handle things, and I really do think he's right.

i think i would still marry him, and hope that we could move far far away from the in-laws.
i've been really lucky, my FIL's are great people. If anything, my FMIL and FFIL take my side on everything.
