Re: FIL situation
I agree, your FH should probably be the one to tell her. Can you find someone to babysit locally, maybe at your house or the hotel?

Yeah maybe you guys are right, Im only afraid if I leave it up to FH he'll forget and we'll end up telling her last minute. Nothing has been easy for us since we started planning this wedding.

Re: FIL situation
I would probably opt for the baby sitter for when she comes up here. But then she has to pay for them to come up here with her. I don't know.
I would still stress that you don't want to have any kids at the reception, and that if she can't make any arrangements down there, assure her that you will help her find something when she is up here. ?

Re: FIL situation
Can you incorporate them into the bridal party? FH's cousin had no children at her wedding and reception but felt bad about telling her sisters and FSIL hat sooo she incorporated the children into the BP did a kids table for them at the reception they stayed an hr ate then went up to the bridal suite where she paid for a baby sitter to be with them the rest of the night. I mean it wasn't a ton of kids it was 4 but it worked.

FH doesnt want the kids in the bridal party. I feel like Its going to be such a mess. I do agree with FH on that though, its really not a place for kids.

It'll be fine. Just call her and tell her and giver her your reasons. She may have someone in FL that she can leaves the kids with for the weekend. Maybe they could use a kid free weekend. . . .
She hasn't bought the tickets yet. . .right???

Re: FIL situation
Good Luck, we said NO kids and that included SILs son (DHs nephew) and guess what....2 weeks before the wedding I had to order a RB pillow b/c he was coming anyway and he was 7 sometimes its just easier to let it go.
Have your FH tell her and gauge he response-I would definitely look into the babysitter for her if she has no one in FL to watch him

Re: FIL situation
definitely have FH tell her--its his place.
we did the same thing--no kids. my DH's brother opted not to come since his 5 kids weren't invited.
just be prepared that she might be so offended she says she won't come--you have to decide whether or not you are okay with that or if you will change your mind.

Re: FIL situation
I hate this. I feel like reminding everyone who didnt have kids at their wedding! And now that they have kids its a different story. We really dont think its a place for kids and I just hope everyone understands that. We'll try to do whatever we can to make everyone happy. Thanks for all your advice ladies
