FIL VENT!!!

FMIL & FBIL went with me this weekend to pick out the music for the Mass since FH had to work...

FMIL is BY THE BOOK with everything! Well The CHurch only offers us an organist unless you want to splurge and spend an extra 600 on top of the 675 for a different instrument....

I LOVEEEEEEE Canon in D and had originally picked Here comes the bride bc I didn't even think of doing Canon in D. All weekend I kept thinking how I like Canon in D so much better !!!! Well I called and lm for him to switch it and I told FBIL and of course he runs home to his mommy and FH comes over lats ngiht and says 'don't get upset or mad but they are a little mad/upset yous witched it since here comes the bride is traditional. SO I FREAK I will never hear the end of it so I suck it upa nd say fine I will switch it back to here comes the bride but let it be known do you hear me throwing a fit with her that my RD can't be when I want it bc it is not good for 'her daughter and kids!!!'

it is YOUR wedding and YOUR ceremony---switch it back to Canon in D...that is what you want and you shouldn't let them bully you.

in the end what are the FIL's gonna do??? i say switch it back and don't say anything to them. but seriously, if thats what you want, don't you DARE let them make you feel bad about it....do what you and FH wanted...that moment is for you two more than anyone else.

my mom didn't like that i wanted to walk into 'All I ask of You' from Phantom of the Opera...guess what? i walked into it--and it felt great !

YOU are the BRIDE and if the BRIDE wants to walk down the aisle to CANON then go for it.
It is a beautiful piece of music and perfect for such an occassion.

Lesson learned, keep FBIL out of the planning.
Change it back to Canon and don't tell anyone.

Personally I can't stand Here Comes The Bride.

So funny... I couldn't agree more. It is your wedding.

Seriously - do what you want. FH and I have listened to every suggestion FIL's and my parents had, and then did what we wanted. We gave them the respect of listening and even liked some of their ideas, but when it comes to details like this you need to do what makes you happy.

Even though it's a small detail, you may end up thinking back and resenting them for making you change something that was important to you.

im walking in to canon in D...its so pretty! tell her to watch father of the bride..the daughter walks down to it..and that movie is from like 1992..15 yrs ago!!!! so tell her to pipe down and zip itttttttt!!!!!!!!!!

you ABSOLUTELY SHOULD NOT settle for something bc its what they want...its YOUR wedding!!! HAVE IT YOUR WAY!!! (omg..that was so burger king! haha)
