Re: Film or Digital
This obviously depends on the film or digital camera you are thinking about. If you are going to get a cheap HP digital camera for $80 I'd stick with a cheap film camera. Otherwise, if you are going to get a decent digital camera, unless you are a professional photographer, you probably won't notice too much of a difference - if any. Advances in digital cameras have come so far that there is almost no noticeable difference in quality between film and digital. The added benefits of digital is that the learning curve is much quicker. You get results instantaneously and can make adjustments to correct any problems immediately, as opposed to waiting to get the picture developed.

I don't know that one is better than the other, but a lot of photographers use digital b/c it is so much easier to edit, add special effects and manipulate than it is with film.

I agree, I preferred digital for this reason and also because I can have alot more pics in my album than I would have if I had gotten traditional pics.

Re: Film or Digital
there have been a lot of debates about this in the past if you do a quick search...
each has its own advantages and disadvantages... I am going with digital because I want to make my own albums and it will be a lot easier to do with all the images already on the computer...
with the newest technology you can barely tell the difference anymore... usually film will have a little more 'depth' to it...

Duet uses digital for color and film for black and whites because they come out richer on film...the color , with the technology these days, there is minimal diff

Re: Film or Digital
We went with digital because we didn't want to deal with having to pay for extra film or film limit (for some photographers). Plus with digital, we got a CD of the negatives, which makes it easier to do our own album, to copy the negatives for other people, and to post things on the web. Our photographer has top-of-the-line digital camera, and unless you're really a photography expert, you really can't tell the difference when it's printed. Our photographer is www.michaelcody.com if you want to check him out. He is great!!

Re: Film or Digital
we had mostly film, black and white and color and i think in my opinion, the digital came back a little grainy. she made us a dvd of the digital shots that she did but the majority of the pictures were film and they were nice and crisp

Re: Film or Digital
I am biased because I come from a print background. I found when looking at some of the more popular digital Photographers from here that I did not like the final outcome. For some reason I did not like the way the final product looked...it did not seem rich and sharp..so i went with a place that did both film and digital...
I think it is all what you like the most...good luck!
