If they ask me to invite one more second cousin that they know is 'definitely' not going to come to the wedding, I'm going to scream. Why are you inviting them if you know that they're not going to come? And what happens if they do decide to show up? How did our 150 person wedding turn into 263 people???

girl i'm with you on this! I had the same problem with my MIL (whom I love to death) but to me it was a waste of a stamp and an invite... but I ended up doing it to please them...

I understand your issue - I am dealing with that with my father wanting to invite every second and third cousin 'who are not going to come' I am doing announcements that will be sent to all these relatives so they know about the wedding but are not necessarily invited..
Talk to your FH about how to limit your IL's request

OMG, the same thing happened to me...except her definitely 'not coming' distant relatives are showing up!!! Now I wont know if there are wedding crashers or not, because there will be people that FH and I dont know!!!!!!

omg i thought i was the only one with this problem!! why dont they get it? are we the crazy ones.
