Final Count

Final Count

i heard some girls saying it's better to give a lower final count just in case people cancel last minute. If you do that and you have more people than the number you gave when do you pay for them. how does it work?

Re: Final Count

The week before the wedding when u make ur finial payment just make sure ur room will hold the # of people u will be inviting, we booked our Rh for 125 guest it holds 210 and we actually be inviting 150 guest but if u tell RH 150 guest and only 140 say Yes u still have to pay for the other 10

I don't think that's what she means. I think she meant if you give your FINAL count as 10 or so people lower than what it is. If you get 200 yes RSVPs back but only tell your RH 190 will be attending. I think that's a little dangerous. What if there aren't enough place settings and then they have to scramble to set up a table last minute. And how do you determine exactly who and where you will leave someone out? Then they won't have a favor or placecard put out for them. I'd be a little insulted if as a guest I RSVPed yes and I got there and no one was expecting me to actually show. I know it's a great idea for trying to save last minute cash, but I'd just bite the big one and give 'em the final headcount as is.

Ahh I see what you mean. Then that wouldn't be so bad. Just make sure you have one or two tables with a little extra space so you have a place to stick 'em if they do show up!

Re: Final Count

When they asked us for our final # they also asked us for seat counts at each table. So if you give a lower # than you are expecting, you will not have chairs for those people at the tables (NOT GOOD!!!)

I would give an accurate a number as possible. Usually if you call within 48 hours to change it, they will accommodate you and not charge you, but every hall is different. Don't make your guests sit on the floor.

Re: Final Count

thanks girls. i didn't really know how this would work. I think i'll just give the accurate number and pay if the guest doesn't show.
