Final fitting today!!!!!!!! Answers needed UPDATED

I can't believe it

What are some things I should look out for?

Do you think I should go try on my dress next week before I pick it up?

Like 3 people have told me that the week of your wedding you drop more weight..I'm afraid of shrinking, yet looking forward to it also..

Have fun. . move around a little bit to see if the dress 'stays' with you. . . drags etc. . like normal dresses sometimes things are perfect when you are stock still but change with movement and while I'm sure you would be WILLING to stand during dinner to be perfection you shouldnt have to !!

I wouldn't worry about trying it on again -- personally, I thought of doing the same thing just to make sure everything was just right, but my mom was like 'just let it go, Cat...'

today, I would double check:

-zipper and closures -- make sure they're super in tact and that the snaps are sewn in tight
-the hem -- stand on tippy toes to make sure it's even all around
-upclose, look at the silk/satin and make sure there are no snags anywhere

really:????????????? they SO wouldn't LET me try on my gown when I picked it up!!!!!!!! cause it was all cleaned and pressed and everything!

i tried it on after she made the final adjustments to make sure everything was ok (1 week before) but then it was steamed and packed so i didnt want to open it. although i put it on the night before my wedding to show my fam

me too they would NOT let me try it on......and im so pissed that i didn't becuase when i got my dress home and opened it up to lay it out...it was pressed terrible and they didn't add the extra buttons on the back that they promised......stupid idiots....

They usually do not let you try your dress on when you pick it up. It's already been pressed, steamed and stuffed/packed up. They don't want to chance anything happening to it at that point. You have to try it on when you get home.

Maybe it depends on where you go....my 'last fitting' is when I pick up the dress. They will make me try it on to ensure there are no last minute adjustments neccessary.

I would say just jump in it like you would be dancing in it.

That way you can see if your dress does not come undone.

The other thing is bustle.

How many posts have we read about bustles coming undone and breaking? Too many.

I have been to 2 wedding this year where the bustle on the dress broke.

Make sure the bustle is 100% secure!

Oh and i also brought EVERYTHING i was going to wear that day... earrings, jewelry, vail, hair piece, shoes, under garments....

I didn't try mine on when I went to pick it up. I had my final fitting a week before and made sure everything was good then. Like the others girls said, my dress was cleaned and pressed so I didn't want to mess that up!

I was thinking the same thing Jen.

But I think its ok but do you think you're going to drop that much where your dress is going to fit BIG?

I made my seamtress tighten up the dress b/c i know that I'm going to shed some stress pounds.

Regardless.....you are going to look AMAZING

We actually scheduled a final final fitting for Wednesday the 30th, because as of today we were still taking it in, and making adjustments to it. Then I'm picking it up the day before the wedding.

They let me try mine on when I picked up and then steamed and stuffed after. It was the day before my wedding.

Guess each store varies...but I'm sure glad I tried mine.

I picked up my dress a few days before the wedding. I tried it on 2 days before my scheduled pick-up just to make sure there were no last-minute issues. Then they steamed, pressed it, stuffed it with tissue paper, and had it ready for me.
