I just had my final fitting and am a bit nervous! It went well and no alterations were needed except for the bustle...but my wedding is not until October 10th! I really have no choice though, because I live in NC. Anyone else have a fitting super in advance?

That seems very soon to me, I thought final fittings should be like a week or 2 before.

I agree that that sounds really soon! They told me my last fitting was too soon and it was 3 weeks before my wedding...
I am a bit nervous because everyone loses weight right before the wedding!
My dress had to get shipped from San Francisoc to NYC so that is why we had to do it 3 weeks before - but i guess I can always do a last minute alteration in NYC if I need it.
I would definitely try to make an appointment where your wedding is the week before - JUST IN CASE!

I live In Portland but, I'm heading back to NY a month (job is giving me off 2 months) before my wedding so my final fitting will be 2 weeks before my wedding. I think you should be ok. If you stay exactly where you are.

Do you find your weight fluctuates or stays about the same? I think it shouldn't be a major problem as long as your weight is stable. However, I have heard the pounds slide off right before the wedding (news to me as my weight is status quo!!). That being said, if possible one more fitting about a week or two before the wedding would be PERFECT! Call the salon and see if you can schedule it before you come up to NY.

welcome to liw! your dress is gorgeous & looks so beautiful on you! I would just be careful about maintaining your weight between now and October- you should be fine though!

Oh and the answer to everyone's questions are #1...the dress store told me I couldn't have a fitting 3 days before the wedding???!!! And that is when I am flying in. I think I am going to call and try to see if they can get me in...it will ease my nerves! #2...I never fluctuate above or under 3 pounds...since high school so I think I'll be okay. I'm more worried about the bride weight loss right before that magically happens!

honestly that does seem a bit too early. You want to make sure it fits you right and its very possible for your weight to change.
I had my last fitting 2 weeks before my wedding and let me say that i wish i waited to do it even closer to the wedding. When i went for final fitting the dress fit perfect. The last 2 weeks were so hectic that i lost weight. The dress fit a bit loose
