Final sample of DIY invites!!!

Final sample of DIY invites!!!

I just ordered all of the supplies to finally make them! I am so excited! When they are done with the better grade cardstocks, they will be awesome!

Still working on a double dolphin graphic and will add 'Reception to Follow' on bottom. What you see as black will be chocolate brown cardstock and the blue will be Aquamarine Stardream (a little shimmer) Metallic. They are 8' square and with the burlap pouch will fit into a 9' square white envelope.

Will be sealed with a chocolate kiss (lips), not the Kaluha seal!!!!

Not sure yet if I'm making the burlap pouch in brown or natural. They will be sewn and trimmed with no frays.

Got rid of the shell for postage weight and it looks more classy without!

I'm happy!!!!

Thanks guys!!!

2Be1... no, they will be mailed. From what I weighed now (just over 3 ounces), with inserts and all, will be $1.11 to mail. Sounds like a lot but when you think that the average invite is .87 to mail, 115 invites would be $100.05... 115 at $1.11 is $127.65..... $27.60 is soooo worth the extra grandness to keep the size that I have! Plus I justify it by how much I'm saving by making them myself and no photo stamps.

Someone just made a post/poll in BHB board (I think) about invite costs. Mine ended up in the second lowest price category which had very little votes. So in my case, DIY was a huuuuge money saver!

I actually do work for brides (I'll FM you with my website) but have not gotten into the invite department yet. I will think about it after I complete my own and see how much of a project it is to make 115 of them plus inserts and all!!! But keep checking in.. ya never know!!!

Thanks again!!!

where did you get your supplies from? You created what I am looking to do for the invite. But I want fuschia & orange, instead of the turquiose.

Re: Final sample of DIY invites!!!

Aww! Thanks so much for your kind words and for digging so far back to revitalize this post!!!!

I ordered my supplies from various online vendors after lots and lots of research!!!

www.envelopemall.com
-Aquamarine Stardream Metallic cardstock (105# for bottom layer and 81# text weight for top later). There's plenty extra for save the dates, menus, favor tags, tears of joy...
-Aquamarine Stardream Metallic 4 bar reply envelopes (plenty extra for save the dates).
-9' square ultra white outer envelopes.

www.ribbonfactory.com
-Aqua double faced satin 1/2' ribbon in 33' inch lengths for invites and 3' lengths for burlap pouch seal (you order by the yard and they can heat seal cut to your length for pennies extra, the rest comes to you on a spool [you do not have to cut it all]... totally worth it!).
-Also ordered some brown satin in 1/2' for favors and 1/8' tears of joy. Any extra will be used here and there and I'm making some ribbon wands for our 7 nephews!

http://stores.ebay.com/Aunt-Dees-Treasures
-Stampin Up! Chocolate Chip [dark brown] cardstock.

JoAnn's Crafts and Fabrics
-Vinyl backed burlap.
-TOMBO MONO Permanent Adhesive.

Patchogue Floral
-Brown burlap for inner pouches.

Staples
-The white cardstock that backs the verse layer is just cheapo white cardstock that was about $4 a ream. I've had a ream for over a year and use it all the time and am still not through it! That's where I got the blue cheapo cardstock too... just to play with sizing and wording and such (I actually used it for the top layer of our e-party invites and they came out great!).

Here are the final designs for our reply cards and save the dates! They will of course be done with the above supplies.... these were just test samples. That's an image of our actual boat!

Hope that helps!!!!!

Re: Final sample of DIY invites!!!

Oh sure!!!! We've got plenty of time to get my wedding done and over!!!! I think I'm going to put a notice on my website that I will close up shop for August and September!!! It's getting tough to get down to the wire with my own stuff and then put it down to work on other brides! But so far so good... it gives a good balance.
