Finally!

at 2 1/2 Justin is finally off the bottle completely. He has been off of it for a while, only used it when he went in for his afternoon nap and in to bed at night. But the other day when we went to see my Dh's cousins new baby and he saw me feeding him a bottle, I explained that babas were for babies and big boys use cups. We went home, he threw his bottles in the garbage and hasn't asked for one since. He takes the cup for everything!!!

Now if he would only master the potty......

YEAH!! CONGRATS!!! Doesn't it feel great!!!

Patrick stopped the bottle but still keeps a sippy cup for naps & bed time!
As for potty training my sister told me to just leave the potty out until it's not strange to him. And aventually he'll get used to it! I put it out & all he does is play with it. So I might wait a while to bring it out again! Though he does attempt to take off is diaer everytime he's 'done something exciting' in it!
Lately, he's been waking up in the middle of the night to sleep in our bed. Last night he was in their before I went to bed!! I need to end this QUICKLY!! Unfortunatley we only have a 1 bed-room apartment. So, It's not like he can be ignored.

you sound like us - a one bedroom apt. Justin doesn't come in our bed ever (thank god) he just learned to climb out of the crib on Friday. So we were pretty lucky. I guess now we will buy him the race car bed - at least it'll take up less room!

As for the potty, I bought the cushiony seat that goes right on the regular toilet. He sits on it and flushes the toilet

. I haven't really tried to potty train yet, I was waiting for the warmer weather - less clothes to take off. So some time soon

Woo Hoo!!! Great news!!!

Potty training advice:

I have plenty of experience with this being in day care for so many years

Pull-ups stink and defeat the purpose of potty training!!!!! Pull-ups still feel like a diaper! Whereas training pants get wet and uncomfortable, which they will not like and will make them want to go to the potty

Boys are usually harder to train than girls because they can see all their equipment and don't want to part with their 'stuff'

Get them used to the potty let them sit on it and whenever they ask to use it let them! If you can tell that they have to go ask them or take them to the potty! Persistence is the key with potty training! Hope this helped!
