it wasn't $100, it was only $97

I can't believe it went up $30 in the past 3 yrs!

If this is your 1st passport, you need to go to the post office. you have to bring your original birth certificate (with a raised seal) and the photos. You can print out the application and fill it out before hand to save time. It’s a $67 fee to the Dept. of state and a $30 fee to the postmaster.

nah... no 2nd job for me. I'm just hyping a lot of it up. it was our choice to do this. we wanted to elope but then realized that we would never have this opportunity again.

Do you need a passport to go to the carribean or can I use my birth certfiicate?

I’ve been to the Caribbean several times and never needed a passport, just a birth cert. but I haven’t been there since 9/11 and I know that you need it for re-entry into the US from some islands like Aruba. I just didn’t want to take the chance. It’s good for 10 years anyway and I am REALLY hoping that we go to Italy within the next few years. So I will definitely be needing it regardless
