FINALLY!! (long -sorry)

After over 6 weeks of trying to get in touch with him, I FINALLY heard from the priest. The woman in the rectory office felt so bad for me that he wouldn't call me back, she actually texted me that he was there so I just 'happened' to call while he was in.

No apologies for not calling me - just said 'I thought I spoke with you.' When I said 'no' he said 'I remember speaking with you.' I wasn't going to argue with him, but I wanted to say it's my WEDDING - don't you think I'd remember????

He asked if we could come in tonight at 5. Perfect - FH only worked till 2 today so I call him and tell him to meet me there. Then the priest calls back 10 minutes later and says he has to cancel - can we be there at 11 tomorrow morning? I of course say yes. FH was scheduled to work tomorrow and had to call in a personal day, but we didn't have a choice.

Of course, he wouldn't even tell me over the phone if my date is available - he said we'll discuss everything in person. Now I'm afraid he won't marry us because I never made my confirmation! Wish me luck.

ugh - that sounds like a drag - well good luck to you - hope he shows up AND agrees to marry you!

dont worry about the confirmation I never made mine and was told by my church although they highly recommend me to get it before the wedding that it is no longer a requirement

I hope the confirmation thing isn't a problem. I keep hearing different things about it. Some people tell me as long as FH made his and I was baptised and made my communion, it's ok. If not, I'll have to go through the whole RICA thing.

If he doesn't want to marry us, I'll just have to go to the church by my house instead of this one (it's my mother's parish).

whoo hoo! The Church is booked! Met with the priest this morning and we're in the book! Whew! What a relief!

And the confirmation thing was no problem. As long as FH made his, we're good. We can't have a mass, but that's ok.

Now on to limos..................
