Finally Said Yes to the Dress!

After some drama, that is - we've had a rough couple of months and took a long break from planning the wedding. One of our cats got really sick and was hospitalized, needed two blood transfusions - it was so stressful and we were so scared we were going to lose him. He is doing better now and we are so happy to have him home and doing well! But, after getting the vet hospital bills we weren't sure we'd able to have the wedding anymore (and we have no help from either of our parents). We were very stressed about potentially canceling the wedding, and decided we'd just have to make it work. It'd be more stressful to cancel it, and we will have more money after the holidays, and hopefully after the wedding. Now we need to catch up on wedding planning - eek! Now I finally can, since our cat and I are now better - I had kidney stones before he got sick and ulcers (& panic attacks) during & after...it was tough and between the stress and being sick, the wedding was not on my mind. We stopped caring about the wedding when our cat got sick, and now it's good to finally be in a place where we're looking forward to our wedding once again - and not stressing over whether we can have it anymore. Sorry for the long intro, but that's why I'm especially excited to have chosen my dress!!! We haven't been excited about the wedding in months, so it's nice to be re-psyched!

With the wedding definitely ON, I realized I had less than 6 months to find a dress and really needed to get on that! So we went dress shopping at the Bridal Suite in Bayshore and it went really well! When I walked into the bridal gown area 'my dress' caught my eye right away. It has a lot of detail so I was worried it wouldn't be in my (lower) budget, but it was under! It's a Mori Lee - they have several gorgeous gowns for under $1,000. I tried it on and loved it - loved the look it of it, and how it looked on me, hugged my curves just right. I didn't think I would have a good experience because I don't like white (not slimming) and even though I've lost 20 pounds, I only notice it in my pictures and not in the mirror. So I was surprised that I liked the way I looked, because I didn't expect to. The gown has a corset back so it should fit even if I lose more weight like I'm planning. I also tried on a Maggie Sottero that was really beautiful but it didn't do anything for me (and was uncomfortable), and after trying on my dress nothing interested me. My consultant, Tammy was great. I asked her if there were similar dresses maybe on sale or something, and she showed me very similar dresses but none compared to my dress that I had basically decided upon. It felt too easy because it was the first dress I tried on, but when things are right sometimes it is easy! My FH was the first internet date I went on (and last obviously!), Flowerfield was the first and last venue I looked at (fell in love with FF right away!), and the first dress I tried on was also just right!
