Finally some good luck

I have been sooooooo worried about money and paying everything off the last few months ( who hasnt) that I literally couldnt sleep, and we just got our income tax check and its helping pay some of the vendors off!!! And our tax guy promised us next year he will make sure we get out check right before the wedding!!! now I dont have to worry about the final payments

Last night I had my first night of decent sleep in a long time and I feel so much better!!!

We are in the exact same boat as you. FH is able to claim head of household so that make his tax return higher, which is needed. Our accountant also told us we could get our return in time for the wedding, thank goodness. Another needed help is that my company just gave out the bonuses and since I was promoted to manager last year mine is a bit higher. Definitely needed!!! I still don't know how we are going to make the final payments though. I just try not to think about January and February too much I know it will work out.

yay for you 2!!! Thats the part that worries me the most is the final payments! I have nightmares that we cant make them and have to cancel/postpone the wedding the week before!!!! now it looks like it will all be covered under next years tax return!! we are getting married a week apart!! what stuff do you still have left to do? you know what kills me?? thinking about how tight of a budget we are going to be on next christmas right before the wedding

Ugh...Christmas. I hadn't even thought about that until now, thanks I think we'll be ok with the final payments it just stresses me out when I look our budget spreadsheet and see the total number we will have to owe

We don't really have too much stuff left. I can't believe how easy and stress free (well other than the paying part) the planning has been so far. We've booked all the major vendors, except flowers but we know who we are going with (it's just a matter of signing the contract) and the invitations (we know which ones just waiting to finalize guest list to order). My dress is ordered and in May or June we will order BM dresses. We have to wait because one of my BM's is having a baby this month and wants to lose a little of the baby fat.

Other than that, it's just the little things that it's too soon to do right now. Oh, except block off hotel rooms, still need to do that. But I feel lost because we are at a lull in the planning. But, we are definitely enjoying eachother. How are your plans coming along?

The planning is good. Most the big vendors are done, I have the limo company picked out just have to leave the deposit and I am booking my florist next week when I go in to see the sample cp. did you do stds? did you send them out yet? we picked our invitations also but I didnt order them yet.. i wasnt sure if it was to soon (??) And FINALLY thank goodness all my girls are getting together on wednesday and we are picking/ordering there dresses. My dress should actually be here soon
I cant believe my FMIL who never took my wedding seriously since it was 'so far away' is now looking for a dress like a madwoman and everyone in our families are on diets to loose weight for the wedding!!
Xmas is stressing me out since we have so many people to buy for and we usually spend so much money on everyone ( which is really stupid of us) but i think this year everyone will understnad

My fh says..everything will change with filing..as a married couple. I just looked at him and shrugged my shoulders..not know what answer to tell him.

Sounds like we're at the same stage. Do people think you're nuts for planning everything so soon? Some people think I am. I think it definitely helps with the budget because we know now exactly what we are going to owe and have a year to save and plan for it.

We are only doing STD's for his family that lives in Florida. For the rest of the guests I am going to make up an STD in Word or Powerpoint and e-mail it to them. It might now be the classiest route but it does save us some money.

That's great to hear about your FMIL. Mine isn't really too involved. She is 77 and I think just happy that her last son (she has 3) is finally getting married while she is still alive to see it. I've tried to show her pictures of the flowers I like and the dress I got and all she says is 'Very pretty'. I know she is really happy but I would just like to see her show a little more emotion about it. She actually offered to make the flower girl dress, since it's her granddaughter, which was generous of her.

I know what you mean about wanting more emotion.. everyone thought i was nuts when i started planning this wedding ( a year ago) and now everyones like rush rush rush. we have to do this lets go do that.... fh was totalyl un involved the first year and it really upset me... but ever since we hit the 1 year mark... hes more into it then i am!
I never would have thought.... he actually WANTS to come to the florist and all the vendors and look at everything and all the little details ( go figure) anyway i was asking about the STDs b/c I have them but dont know if its 2 early to send them out? we dont have that many oot guests its just that alot of FH family has houses in floriday and they go all the time esp in the winter... i want to make sure they hold the date before they start buying plane tickets.
