How many of you new mommies are or have found out the sex of your baby? I am finding out and can't wait. I want to know who this person is inside me. My husband and I can't imagine waiting until they are born. Some people I work with are trying really hard to convince me to wait and be surprised. I'd love to know your thoughts.

We must be on the same wavelength. I was thinking about posting a poll about this earlier, but never got around to actually doing it.

Re: Find out the sex?
My DH and I couldn't wait to find out either. I couldn't imagine waiting to find out. I have NO PATIENCE!!! We're going to find out the sex when we have our second baby too! It's so much nicer knowing what color you can buy, and the type of stuff. But some people just like to be surprised.

Re: Find out the sex?
We were surprised - we figured that there are so few surprises in life, we may as well enjoy one -- it certainly doesn't take anything away from the experience I guess, but it was an exciting moment in the operating room waiting for my husband to announce 'It's a BOY!' - I'll never forget that moment!!
If we are lucky enough to have 2 more I figure that for the last one I might find out the sex - just to figure out where we'll fit everyone!!

Re: Find out the sex?
We are going to find out also. I'm hoping my dr can tell us next week, but if not we'll know in March for our level 2 sonogram.
The anticipation is already killing me, I couldn't imagine waiting until August!!

Re: Find out the sex?
We waited the first time and we are waiting agin with this baby. It was a very very exciting moment when he was born to find out the gender. It's totally a personal choice thing and we're lucky in this day & age to have the choice vs. years ago. Of course, I'm dying to know the gender of the babe but I will live vicariously through you & the other ladies here.

Re: Find out the sex?
Like Liz said, I think each of us (that wont find out) is EXTREMELY curious to know and I was ok to be convinced either way... Hubby feels strongly about not finding out and being surprised, so I went with that feeling... and I LOVE surprises so I dont mind at all...
Kinda makes me think of (since this is a weddings website are you one of those brides that would try to do anything to find out the date of your shower, or would you be hurt and annoyed if someone slipped or if you just found out....)
Its a personal choice and no right or wrong... It IS cute to be at a shower where the gender is known so that everything is specific to that little boy or girl
Its also an AMAZING moment just waiting to hear that word BOY or GIRL and it all becomes SOOO REAL as that baby is placed in your arms...
Whatever you decide is whats meant for you

Re: Find out the sex?
I've been dead set against finding out the sex, I want to be surprised. DH is curious to know.
All of a sudden today, I have feelings that I really want to know. My next doc's appointment is Thursday. Chances are we may find out if my curiosity still rages then

Being this is our first child, we are NOT going to find out the sex of the baby!

Re: Find out the sex?
I don't want to know if our baby is a boy or a girl - I am looking forward to the surprise! At first my DH wanted to know - but now he is all for the surprise!
I like the guessing part too. I am convinced that I am having a boy - while my DH's family says girl. We'll see...

Re: Find out the sex?
my mom wants to know so she could start shopping, my dh will do whatever I prefer, but he is a doctor so it may be hard for him not to know.... It would kill me if he knew and i didn't, he is so good at keeping a secret...

Re: Find out the sex?
Believe it or not I love surprises, but I want my surprise earlier than August. If my husband felt strongly about waiting, I'd wait but since he wants to know too, we are finding out. I am convinced it is a boy. So, we'll see. I think I can find out some time in March. Who knows they might not be able to tell me. Bottom line is I just want a healthy baby in August whether its a boy or girl.

Re: Find out the sex?
We definetly wanted to find out the sex of the baby. I too wanted to know who was growing, kicking and rolling inside of me. I got a lot of.. wait to be surprised, but for me no matter what this has been a wonderful planned surprise and still will be a surprise in the delivery room. I'm just a planner too, wanted to know everything before she got here. It's a personal choice, don't let anyone sway you.

Re: Find out the sex?
I was always one of those ' Wait and be surprised' people, till I got pregnant
My DH wanted to know and I caved in when I got so curious too. I don't regret finding out for a minute. It was nice to be able to tell everyone to get things.
We were still surprised by when he would come, what he would look like. I do agree that is a total personal decision. We will probably find out when we decide to have a second baby, so we can tell Damien whether he will have a or
