Finding a DJ

Finding a DJ

Hi there,

I'm starting to look for a DJ and I wanted to see if anyone can recommend some. I'm looking for a DJ that isn't too loud or obnoxious...I'd hate for the guests to not be able to talk over the music. I also want a DJ that will play all the songs I want.

Any advice?

I used in the the mix dj

They did such a wonderful job at our wedding. I can't rave enough about them. I was very impressed in their planning process. Gina the coordinator there was amazing in helping me out.

They played everything wanted. They weren't overly loud. Loved them

There are so many good DJs on here and you'll prob gets lots of different responses to this post!!

We used Long Island Sound Entertainment and were sooooooooooooo happy with them!!!!!!!! The MC (Chris) did a wonderful job (he wasn't obnoxious or 'in your face' at all), it was just what we wanted. And they played all the songs that we had listed, the dance floor was packed all night!!!! The music wasn't too loud either, we were def able to talk and have a great time. If I could do it again I'd book them again in a heartbeat!!!!!

We are using Starlight Express. YOu get to choose your MC. From what I have heard the MC I chose, Vinny (the owner) is very low key and so is MC Paul.

There are reviews of them on this site, you should check it out.

Good luck.

He's been my best friend since 5th grade & he does an AMAZING job, he just did my sister's wedding in July and we didn't sit EVER! I wish he could do my wedding himself but he'll be attending as a guest of course but I am using one of his friends Benny from Now Sounds DJs

We used Frankie from Tommy's Tunes and he was everything we wanted and more. I didnt have one old person complain that the music was too loud nor did we have one young person say the music was bad. He played everything we wanted. The dance floor was packed all night. His personality and energy is amazing. We could not have been happier.

Check out Pinilla Studios. I have seen them perform and they are great. I am using them for mine as well.

You both should definitely check out Vinny from High Voltage! He is so easy to work with, and he gives you everything you want. I have seen him at weddings before and he is fantastic and plays the music that gets the crowd up. He is very good at reading crowds!

Good Luck!

he's not what you picture a typical dj to be.... He actually spent most of his career as a DJ in clubs in NYC. He has no smoke, no light show, and no chicken dance.....

The best part, he really listens to the vibe/music style you want, and your 'do' and 'don't' lists......
