Help!! I am totally clueless about how I go about this process!! FH is Catholic and I'm Protestant, so we were thinking of getting a Justice of the Peace or some other non-denominational officiant. We're getting married at our RH, so we'd need someone to go out to Baiting Hollow. I read a lot of you girls are using Pastor April - how did you find her?
I went to a bridal showcase at Giorgio's, and they had one lady there who seemed really nice, but I don't want to go with the first person I meet.
Also, are any of you doing the sand ceremony? It's in place of the unity candle, and basically you each have a jar of your favorite colored sand and then at the same time, you both pour your sand into another jar that you can keep on display. And the idea is that your marriage will last for as long as it takes you to separate the sand. I thought it was such a nice idea!

Re: Finding an officiant
If you go to the vendors section on here you can go to officiants and find a list of officiants but read reviews about them on here. I know one of those ladies had bad reviews from a bride in the review section but she had to take it down because the officiant made a big deal about it on LIW...
I say all this to say try to read reviews on officiants and FM the reviews that say FM me about the officiant.
Hope that helps

Re: Finding an officiant
Hi! We just met with Rev. Deb Viola yesterday. She was wonderful. We wanted a non-denominational ceremony. We are doing the sand ceremony as well. Everything was very personalized and customized to meet our desires about what we want for our ceremony. She was so down to earth and fun to talk to. It was great. I highly recommend her.
She is a vendor on here. Ceremonies of the Heart.
