Finding an RH-HELP!!!
Hi All,I recently got engaged in August and have slowly been looking around for the perfect venue that will also fit into our budget. I LOVE Sand Castle. I love the building, the food options and the overall package they are offering us. It really is a great deal but only if we have a Thursday evening wedding. I really would like to try to get a Friday or Saturday evening. So far I have looked at Chateau Briand, Floral Terrace, and Leonard's of Great Neck. I have been to weddings recently at the Royalton and the Inn at New Hyde Park. We are looking for a location that can hold between 250-275 guests, has great food and drinks, modern but elegant and isn't $200pp. I have an appointment with Woodlands at the Greens this week. Can anyone tell me they're price quotes they received for a summer 2015 wedding at RHs. I also wanted a Viennese Hour but I might decide against it because I have been to 3 weddings now that had it and the desserts were barely touched. I even had a friend who did a touch of viennese and most of the desserts were left on the tables. TIA!!!!

Are you only looking in Nassau county? ...I didn't look at anything in Nassau, but I can say if you are willing to look in Suffolk county I can definitely give some suggestions that fit what you are looking for

Re: Finding an RH-HELP!!!
Chateau Briand is great! For a Saturday evening with a 200 people minimum, we got it for $132/pp. Very happy with our choice! Was just at Sand Castle two Fridays ago. So much fun and food was phenomenal.
ETA: we aren't doing a Viennese for that exact reason. But between the cake, chocolate fountain, chocolate shots, they should be happy!

Hi!! :) I don't have quotes for those places but sometimes you need to compromise I had all those requirements so I chose a winter wedding so I could get all I wanted for a price I could afford

So today I went to view bridgeview yacht club. Very nice and definitely different. The BM I met with was nice but definitely a little rushed and very nonchalant. Regardless the pricing was ok and she definitely gave me a few options. Wish the view was nicer but great venue overall.

I went to see the milleridge cottage yesterday and boy does that menu look tasty and so abundant. Pricing was excellent. Another unique looking venue except I feel there's no separation of space. Everything is just there in he open. I really don't like that one cocktail hour is over, the walls get moved and the bridal party lines up on the staircase. There's no doors to enter from so everyone can technically see you before you make your grand entrance. Where the main bar is is also a turn off. It looks a litte tacky. My idea is to possibly use drapery to allow for a grand entrance through the drapes and create a modern look with up lighting as well.

Same here!! Wanted a September wedding SOOOO bad but we changed our date so we could afford the venue we loved :)
Definitely check out the Watermill - their downstairs room holds over 200 people and they should be in your budget

Hi there, I was married at Sand Castle this past year. Just wanted to share my experience and tips. We originally were set on a June wedding until we visited Sand Castle. The quote we received for June was well over our budget. But, we saved $65 per person moving to February (Friday night 175 gaurantee was $110pp inclusive of tax and service fee). Sand Castle was AMAZING to work with, I def recommend them 110%. I didn't mind moving to February either, because let's face it, the grounds at SC are really nothing to write home about (IMO) they are nice enough but personally do not take my breath away. One the other hand, the interior is impeccable and service is unsurpassed. Plus the amount and quality of food served is seriously a joke (in a good way). My guests left with 'seconds....' That's what mattered most to us. If moving to an off season date is an option for you I def recommend considering it.. Good luck in your search :) Hope everything works out!!!Also, I went to a great wedding recently at East Wind - The food was outstanding and they had a large cocktail hour!!! Grounds were very pretty :)
