I have become such a slacker. This is my day - I get up at 5:30 am, I am at work between 7 and 7:15 am. I get home at 6:30 pm. I eat with my husband, I watch a little tv and by 9 pm I am sleeping (unless Paradise Hotel is on) and then it all begins again.
How can I squeeze in exercise during the week. It is difficult for me to maintain a work out schedule on the weekend, when I do nothing all week.

Becky: I have no advice for you. I just wanted to tell you that I feel your pain I get home around 7:30 every night and I'm exhausted and never feel like working out

Re: Finding time to work out
Do you have a long enough lunch break to squeze in a quick walk or workout?
It is hard to workout at the end of a long day.
When I used to be at work by 7am I'd get up at 4am to squeeze in a workout. It wasn't fun, but I didn't skip them when I did it first thing... I also had a workout buddy that I met at 4am at the gym and I knew she'd kill me if I didn't show up.
Having a work-out buddy is a great way to stick to a workout schedule.

Re: Finding time to work out
Find a gym that has early and late classes.
I don't like running on the treadmill or the stationary bike. I get reaaly bored. But I love Step and Kickboxing. I like the music and the people around me and someone telling me what do. I looke forward to my classes. My gym had classes as late as 8 pm and as ealy as 5:00 pm. Just an idea.

Re: Finding time to work out
Have your hubby cook dinner and before you go home from work. Go straight to the gym and do some cardio/wts for 30-45 minutes. Then go home and eat. At least you did something.
After dinner you might find harder, because you are full and ready to relax.

Re: Finding time to work out
If you go right after work, before dinner, you will find that after a week, you will have more energy. You are tired now, but that is because you aren't working out. What type of work do you do that makes you tired by the end of the day? just curious. Is it that you are physically tired, or mentally tired?

Re: Finding time to work out
I know what you mean...its hard when your day is so long, but snowboardgirl is right, maybe if you do it right when you get off from work or when you get home. Does your hubby work out? If not, maybe you work out together...just to motivate each other.....

Re: Finding time to work out
You have to make it a top priority.
If you can make time for paradise hotel, you can find time for this (hee hee). I work insane hours and work out at 5am almost every day. I can't function without that time to myself. Also, I walk up the stairs during the day and find other ways to work in small workouts. Stairs are faster than the elevator over here!
One other thing I do is sign up for walks/ running races. This way I have to work out regularly and am rewarded with a t-shirt and a fun morning with friends!
get up 1/2 hour early at first...and see how that feels...
If you can't do mornings...I like the idea of going straight after work...

Re: Finding time to work out
Listen - I am in the same boat, but if it's important to you....MAKE TIME!
I wake up at 5:45am..commute into work, leave work and head straight to the gym and don't get home until 9:00pm sometimes.... Does it ****? YES! Do I wish I had more time? YES!
But, I won't let myself sit on the couch, and wish I was at the gym....wake up and then feel bad about myself!! Just do it! Bring a gym bag to work and head straight there....or instead of watching TV, go the gym...(you can always catch your shows another time)...
Like someone above said....you have to make it a priority....or else you make excuses for yourself...ya know? (I know this b/c I was the queen of making excuses for myself...but all I was doing was cheating myself)
If you can't see yourself making it to the gym, buy a tape and do that instead of watching TV...or get outside for a long jog!!!!
