finding venue on short notice

finding venue on short notice

How feasible is it to find a venue with a 3 month notice? Anyone do this before? Or know someone who has?

We're planning on March next year, but won't have any money to spend until december. I know where I want it to be, but they can't guarantee me the time I want without a deposit. So if I call in December for March dates, I wonder if there will be any available anywhere. That's what I was getting at.

Its a risk if you are dead set on that one particular place. But March isn't too busy of a season, so I think its possible you can find a place, and a good deal, the problem would be all the other vendors, which when you don't know if/when/where the hall will be, its hard to lock down all the rest of the details. So I say not impossible, but still pretty risky.

I want The Swan Club so bad, but I know that if they're not available that I'll have to look elsewhere. I'll check Lessings but also want to try Douglaston Manor as well.

I don't think they will fill up....especially as it gets that close...I'm booked in November and 3 out of the 5 Fridays were available when I booked in late February...and so far I'm the only bride on my date...I'm guessing march should be similar!

I just booked my August 31st reception. There were no evenings available, but there were some daytime openings.

Call around, 3 months is when people get cold feet and cancel!

It's possible because there may be cancellations! When I was shopping around for venues I was surprised they still had lot of dates available for this year!

Also look at a place that has more than one reception room. Leonards, Fox Hollow, Lessings, Crest Hollow and Jericho Terrace all have a few. Here's a link to the knot's website with LI wedding reception halls

A few years back my friend had to have a wedding with 3 1/2 months notice and not only did they find a venue but they got it at a really discounted rate....you can definitely find it.

try places with multiple rooms/locations. I've heard of the East Wind doing last minute bookings, they have 3 separate buildings on site.

Lessings has deals at Smithtown Landing, The Mansion at West Sayville, Three Village Inn, Coindre Hall even---for any remaining 2013 dates! I soooo wanted a Fall wedding this year but there was too much going on with other weddings on each side of our families. Def check them out!!!
