Is anybody having a hard time trying to figure out what you really need for the fine china? Did everybody put the accent plates on the registry as well? Did you add the teapot and the coffee pot and the mug? I'm not sure about this, because I don't know if I will actually use all of it. Please let me know what you think. Thanks!

I'd say it depends on how much you entertain formally. Are you planning on hosting a holiday at your place? If so, then I'd register for the platters and extras and everything. Otherwise, you could get neutral platters and teapots. It doesn't have to match exactly! Though, you might want to register for it anyway, worst case scenario- nobody buys it!

Re: Fine China...
We didn't put any of the serveware for our fine china on the registry. Instead we found plain white serveware (vegetable bowl, pasta bowl, serving tray, tea pot, etc.) that will go with our fine china and our everyday. We didn't see spending $250 on a tea pot in our fine china since we're not going to use it that often and would rather have one for an everyday type use.

I didn't add the accent plates, coffee mugs, or teapot. My 5-piece set has a dinner plate, bread plate, salad plate, saucer, and teacup. I don't think there's a need for the accent plate. Also, since it came with teacups, I don't think there's a need for coffee mugs. I certainly didn't need the teapot either, because I have my keurig and I'll just use my regular coffee pot when I host.
However, I did need the soup bowls and registered for all of the servingware too. Looks like starting this year, I'll be hosting Easter every year, so I'm going to need them.
We will host some holidays so I wanted to have the serverware to match

same here. the stupid kate spade place settings come with 2 small plates, i'd rather get the soup bowl! i did 1 small and one large serving platter and a veggie bowl, gravy boat & saucer. skipped the coffee pot. i don't understand brewing coffee, to move it to another coffee pot. waste of money.

I put fine china on my registry and all I got were my glasses. I'm fine with it, I can see now I would've probably NEVER eaten out of them!
