Fine China Poll
I'm going back and forth between registering for fine china, it's really pretty but will I really use it all that much? I feel like I'd rather people purchase items off my registry that I will use all the time. What are guys doing?

We didn't register for it. I can't see us using it because both of our families already have members who host holidays which is really the only time I could see using it. Maybe down the road we will buy it ourselves if we ever get a shot to host something important.
I did register but I picked what I really liked and it is expensive so I only got service for 3 so far but Im going to buy another set so I have a set for 4 at least and then maybe over time with coupons and sales I will continue to buy it.
I'm actually registering tomorrow and I do believe we are going to register for it but tey to choose a less expensive on that we still like !
Yes we did! You need a nice set of fine china for thanksgiving and holidays when you might be hosting. We always use my moms fine china on holidays, so I knew we would need a set for our home
I wasn't going to but even if I was I was giving fhs grandmothers china. There are 16 place settings and its really pretty. Thats the only reason I have it.
I voted yes since I will be registering for christmas china. I always pictured my christmas table all dressed up.
We did, because it's something I know I'd never buy for myself.
We registered for fine china but chose less expensive noritake china that is dishwasher and microwave safe. It looks gorgeous and expensive like the Lenox sets but cost 1/3 of the price and its more convenient.
We registered for it... Its the only time you will ever be getting gifts like this so I figured why not? We will use them for passover & thanksgiving when we have a family. We picked out beautiful Kate Spade china with a silver boarder, its also dishwasher and microwave safe. Also, sooo cute! I love it; although I won't be able to use it for a while it is nice to be able to entertain and be excited to use my china.
We are not, because we honestly don't see the need to use fine china in the near future. Besides, FMIL and FH's grandma have unused china sets, so they might give us one..
FH and I have lived together for almost a decade and have never found an occasion to use fine china. So, we registered for a new set of everyday china instead.
If the two of you are moving in together for the first time I would say skip it. There are other things you will need a lot more. Later down the road you can always pick out china that you like and ask to get place settings for holidays or your birthday. I ended up not registering for china bc I didn't care for antyhing in the stores. FH and I ended up finding this gorgeous vintage Lenox china (18 place settings with all the serving platters, bowls, candelsticks, etc) for an amazing deal through craigslist.
We did. We wanted to have fancier table settings for when we start to host holidays. We also wanted something that could be passed down to our kids one day.
We registered for fine china but picked one that was more reasonable. We didn't do the high end china. I wanted something that I could stil use like everyday dishes. They are still in the box LOL Not sure if I will keep or return them yet.
I got my china passed down to me, but if I didnt I'd def register for it. When your a bit older and have a holiday do you really want to pull out your everyday where? Or buy all your own china before hosting a party?
I registered today for fine china. I'm so excited
