Re: fingerprint tree

It was me!!

These are the only two pics I have...

I bought inks to match my colors, archival quality pens for people to sign their names next to their prints and baby wipes so people could get the ink off of their fingers.

My sister drew the tree, we each painted it and the frame is from Michaels.

The tree is completely full now and hanging in my guest room! I love it and when people come over to stay they always get such a kick out of looking for their name!

Re: fingerprint tree

did you use any special paper?

I read on etsy that a vendor was using special paper so it won't break down?

im not that talented to draw it tho...an 11 bride is hopefully helping me!

This si such a great idea.
But how does it work? Do the guest just pick a spot and sign?

pretty much, you leave ink pads out for the guests and they pick a spot to put their fingerprint and they sign their name right next to the fingerprint

That is so cool. I now must have that. It's so different.
So basically is like a sign in book, right? the only difference is that they leave their fingerprint and just sign.

I'm going to be doing this too! I love it!! I've been wondering though, what were everyone's thoughts on it at the wedding?? How many people actually did it compared with those who didn't??

Re: fingerprint tree

Everyone LOVED it!!! We're making one for my cousin's wedding in July. The entire tree is filled and it looks awesome in my guest room. I didn't buy special paper... something like a oak tag made on a more linen type paper so nothing smudged. DH and I picked a spot in the heart in the middle and people just went to town! Some made prints for their pets. It was awesome! I love looking at it.

The ones I saw on Etsy were slightly ridiculous as to what they were charging. They have the same inks and pens at Michaels or ACMoore. I think it'll be fine even though it's not on 'special' paper and down the road if I have to do something to preserve it I will... I couldn't see spending $250+ for the designs I liked for something I could make myself.

If you have any other questions FM me!
