fingertip versus cathedral length veil...

i haven't tried either on with my dress yet but my dress doesn't have any details on the train

at first i was very against a veil at all, then I wanted a short one, then I wanted a fingtertip and now I'm thinking about going all-out cathedral since our wedding is black tie and my dress is very simple

was just wondering what people thought about cathedral and fingertips in general and what you girls are doing

tia :)

Edited for spelling

i always thought i was ggoing to have a catherdal lenght veil but when I tried my veil on with my gown i feel in love it it is a finger tip veil with beading around the edges and on the shoulders. very antique looking

I'm getting married at my RH and my dress has lots of bling and sparle to it all over, including the back, so I'm going fingertip!

Where are you getting married? If it's at a church I say go all out and make it a mile long cathedral! (You only get married once, right?)

You know I wasn't crazy about doing a veil myself but am definitely thinking a blusher and/or a fingertip now for myself but I think you can do a cathedral length!

My MOH tried one on last weekend with her dress and after thinking I wouldn't like it (she's getting married at a temple on a Sat eve), I LOVED it! You should definitely try a cathedral!

we're getting married at the RH, outside on the water weather-permitting

Re: fingertip versus cathedral length veil...

at first i was all about cathedral length for ceremony...then fingertip for reception.

after trying on cathedrals when i tried on dresses, i hated it, i felt like it was annoying and it got in the way...and especially not worth it for a 30 minute ceremony and pics...

it also depends on your dress...if you have alot of detail, a cathedral might take away from it... butt if you're dress is simple then the cathedral might dress it up!

try them on and see how you feel!! thats the best way to decide!

I love both mine was finger tip length, if my dress didn't have alot going on in the back I would have went for a cathedral length. IMO both are great. The only thing with a cathedral length you can't leave it on for a long time because of the length. Some people who have a cathedral length change into a shorter one for pictures and stuff

I'm actualy having both. My gown only has a sweep train and I wanted more drama, so I will be wearing a cathedral veil under my fingertip veil. It actually looks really nice

I am going to have a cathedral veil, but I'm getting married in a church. If I was getting married at Rh I would probably do a fingertip length or one that comes to the knees

I think you should go with the veil that you'd feel most comfy in and that fits the style of your wedding. I have a fingertip veil (not wearing a blusher) and I'm marrying in a Catholic church. I picked a finger tip b/c I didn't want to get lost in the veil and b/c my dress has a lot of detailing on the top. Although, i have to admit, that I do wonder if I'd look hotter in a cathedral considering the venue.

I have a fingertip. I wanted to do a cathedral, but I have a cathedral train on my gown with LOTS of detailing, so I didn't want it to take away from that.

I think it depends on the dress.... If its a long simple dress it may look very pretty to have a cathedral veil...if there is alot of detail on the bottom then fingertip would be the best!

I would say try both on with your dress and see what your feelings are...

I'm pretty much the only person in the world who doesn't like veils so mine will be short... I was hoping to find something shoulder or elbow length, single tiered.
