Just wondering if everyone was ready yet... if I don't do it soon I'll forget everything! I have such bad retention of something.... I forget things five minutes after I've read it!

I finally finished! What did everyone think? I liked all the parts with Kate, Darren and Neck. Gavin was an interesting character but I hated the CIA, FBI and Mexican authority parts.

I really liked the pace of the book - action, action, action.
I also liked the character development of Kate, Darren and Neck (Neck was so well described I could picture him!).
The ending was a bit disappointing - I wish there was more of a definite future for Darren and Kate - it was left like they would have to forgo their identities. What did you guys think of the ending?

I thought the ending was a little too convenient... they were miraculasely saved and shipped off to Australia. But I did feel sorry for Neck, but he shouldn't of wandered off alone.
The whole book was a little creepy with the Monster Butcher guy.
My question would be - if ever in a situation like that would you be able to survive the way Darren and Kate did? I know that I probably wouldn't have made it out of the Mexican guys house alive, but then you wonder about survival instincts. So if I made it out of the house, I wouldn't have survived 4 days hiking with no food.

I think there must be a sequel in the works because how can they just leave these 2 characters in Austrailia??? No more Eco-Challenges...?? Not realistic in my book

I think the only reason Darren and Kate were able to make it was because of the Eco Challenge stuff. Look at Neck - he had to be in awesome physical condition - and even he could not make it. I don't think I could do it - but in extreme situations who knows about the will to live creating impossible results.
I like the idea of a sequel!

A sequel is probably coming... there adventures in the outback of Australia, etc... It was definitely interesting and I would read another of his books.
