NOT one of my favorite DIY's by far. It wasn't difficult just a PITA to work with all that length. Runner from Michaels, printed text off computer, lots of sharpies, and don't forget to use a piece of wax paper under it while coloring in
We decided upon a quote from Song of Solomon to be at the alter end of the runner. Our names and date at the bottom

Re: Finished my aisle runner
The first thing I did was unrolled it and marked the edge with a pencil mark every 5 feet. Mike and I looked like mummies with all that billowing around us as we measured
I wanted my quote to start at the 65 foot mark and continue up towards the alter. You can use any computer program capable of making a banner to do your words. You can also print them out and take them to staples and have them enlarge it for you. I used MS Publisher and made a banner 3' wide, printing two words on each banner, and continuing until my quote was complete. Place the assembled banner under your runner and use some painters tape to secure and start tracing. Decide on your spacing between each line of text and place the next part of the quote and repeat until done.
You can use acrylic paints or sharpies, just whatever you use make sure to tape a piece of wax paper under the runner when you color it in, to protect your floors from what soaks through.
HTH anyone interested
