Fire Hydrant

Fire Hydrant

How do I find out where the closest Fire Hydrant is located to the house I am buying??

I figured out where the fire house is, but I have no idea where a fire hydrant is and I dont want to have to drive around the neighborhood looking.

Thanks,
Scott

Go to visit the house & look for a parking spot. That's when I always find a find a hydrant!

But I wouldn't worry about it, unless you plan on opening for a little summertime refreshment, the fire department should know where it is.

ETA--It may be near the corner of the nearest cross street.

I need it for homeowners insurance...In case they ask me when I call, I want to be prepared.

Then maybe call the fire department? Or town hall?

I'm going to take a drive by and check it out myself after work

Yeah, looking at it is your best bet. But the agent will likely go to the house anyway. When I called I didn't know about hydrants or the firehouse, and since the house was far away I didn't have time to go drive around. Actually, our policy ended up being a little less than the initial quote, probably because both things ended up being close to the house.

The fire department is .8 miles from the house and there are two fire hydrants on the block. Both are across the street, and one is closer than the other is
