Hi ladies! Has anyone been to a bachelorette party on Long Beach or Fire Island? Where did you stay? Any recommendations for a places to go out, also for dinner?

I haven't done a bachelorette party but I would vote fire island. Ocean beach is great, Mermaids has dinner right on the water and it turns into a club later and there are tons of other bars there. Sandbar is fun too!

I dont think Long Beach is good bachelorette place...it is more of a local, casual place.

Thanks ladies! I was leaning towards Fire Island. However we need a 2 night minimum and I don't think my bridesmaid can take off of work and it will be a lot of money. I don't feel like I can ask all my bridesmaids/friends to spend a lot of money. They are already spending money by being in the wedding. If we did Long Beach, we have a condo there so the stay aspect would be free and no minimum lol. Any recommendations on where to stay on Fire Island. I have been looking at a lot of the hotels. But I have not really been to Fire Island besides for a day trip.

I live in long beach and you don't really see many bachelorette parties here, yes there are lots of places to eat and drink it's it's just more of a casual beach town. I would definitely go to fire island, you can stay at the palms hotel in ocean beach, it's so fun there!!

The Fire Island Hotel is decent and from what I remember it didn't break the bank, at least no more then a City Bachelorette party does and it has a pool. We stayed there for my cousins bachelorette party two years ago. The only thing is that it's in Ocean Bay Park and lots more hot spots in Ocean Beach but it wasn't that bad of a drunk walk home :)
We are actually doing my bachelorette party (early as I want Fire Island) this summer and are renting a house but be prepared as it can get pricey especially in prime season. Rates tend to be cheaper in early June before school lets out. Do a Google search for fire island homes for rent and tons pop up

Do you have to stay over? What about taking the last ferry back to bay shore?

We don't have to stay over but I was thinking day at the beach then dinner and night out. I've never really been to Fire Island so I thought it would be nice and a little get away but nothing to far now I'm just confused on what to do lol. Thank you ladies for all your advice!!

We are thinking of going to FI for mine. Doing an early dinner, then partying at the bars. Most likely not staying over because so many of my friends have kids, it's just too difficult. Plus too much $$ in the summer.

Im doing my bach. party on Fire Island. We had the same problems as you, very pricey and you need a minimum of 2 nights. We were originally going to stay at the Palms on OB but the prices are sky high and you need a min of 2 nights which brought the price to around 3,000. we thought it would be better to spend that amount of money on an actual beach house. After months of research, we found a house and are staying at Ocean bay park, which is just a short walk from OB in June.
