My FH is a firefighter with FDNY...did anybody or is anybody doing anything different that relates to the fire department at the ceremony and/or reception?

We'll I've seen people wear their dress FF unform for their wedding, and the bride and groom ride the fire truck at the end of the ceremony which I think is nice. YOu could if you are religious recite the firefighters prayer and then recite the firefighters wife prayer. They are both nice.

as of now no. i do like the prayer stuff though. i will look into it. The cake topper you bought are going to use it as a grooms cake topper or at the rd or something. It is really cute but i haven't ordered it yet. Keep me posted if you think of anything. I would love to try to incorporate something.

FH works for the NYPD but we are not doing anything special but I was thinking of a cake to incorporated it into the RD

My fiancee is also a firefighter with the FDNY. We were thinking of having bagpipes somehow incorporated into the day. We are also having our videographer come to the firehouse some day before the wedding to film us, to incorporate into our wedding video

very cute idea. I keep on forgetting that we are supposed to have bagpipers. I don't know why either because i love them. i guess since i didn't do the booking it isn't real for me...who knows?

I have that cake topper too...we have a friend that will do the bagpipes...I love the firman prayer stuff...thank you for that!... I will keep you posted if I see anytig else!
I did get the garter too though..just a cute gag gift. the cake topper is just for the table

My husband did not want to invite ANY firemen because he has SO many firemkan friends, he KNEW he could not invite them all and did not want to leave anyone out.
Just Friday a fireman was mentioning that he didnt get an invite to our wedding. When I told him NO firemen did I think he felt better.
I wish we could afford everyone, but there wouldnt even be enough ROOM!

I went to a friends wedding and her husband is a firefighter. We are also EMT's together. His fire dept. brought all their trucks and we brought an ambulance. When they came out of the church, all the vehicles sounded their sirens and two of the engines sprayed water into the air and formed an arch. It was really cool!
