We do not have a fireplace in our master bedroom and I would like just the look of one.
Anyone have any ideas how I can accomplish this without actually getting a real expensive fireplace in the room?

Re: Fireplace ...Masterbedroom
Go to a store that specializes in fireplaces. They are much cheaper than they used to be. We were looking in to a double sided FP that would open in to the master BR and the great room. It was about $1200. A one sided one is probably cheaper.
You could always video tape the Christmas log they have on TV at Xmas time and play that on the TV Just kidding!

$1200 for a twosided fireplace is great. A one sided should be cheaper. I will look into it. I thought it would be much more.

Re: Fireplace ...Masterbedroom
We saw a condo that had a small gas fireplace in the family room. Since it was gas, no real work was needed as far as putting in a chimney, etc. I think that might be a good option since it would be relatively simple to set up.

It's called Woodbox. Its on Jericho Tpke in Commack --- East of Indian Head Road
They also have gas fireplaces so you don't need to install a chimney

YES YES thats it! Thanks! Yeah the gas is really a great thing - especially for a bedroom - you dont have to worry about having dirty firewood in your room or ashes all over. We were going to go gas for the BR.

Re: Fireplace ...Masterbedroom
We bought my in laws an electric wooden stove for Chrostmas from home Depot, it truly looks like it is a pot belly stove and heats a room really good!! And you just plug it in, it even has a remote, how great is that, it's about $300. You can even get oils that smell like wood burning and put it in a little ceramic bowl on top of the wood burning stove and it actually heats and smells like you have wood buring in your room!! We're getting one for our great room.
